My Morning Opera

Ah, so early in the morning I rise
Just to get a glimpse of the sky.
To see the sun come over the ridge.
To feel what kind of day it is.
To say farewell to a moonlit night
And watch the stars fade out of sight.
To see the colors within the clouds,
And watch sun rays dance around.
To feel the morning dew in hand.
And take witness in God’s morning land.
I am soon entertained by a bird or two.
I hear the rooster say cock-a-doodle-doo.
I hear the crickets singing their finale
And lose their volume in a rooster rally.
I feel a chill from the early day wind,
Yet soon am warmed as the sun comes in.
A sign, a release, unto this feeling.
This morning opera I find appealing.
Back to my bed, I’ll get my rest .
Yet each today thinking, this was the best.

Inspiration: I like it. It’s time for a change.
It’s been a long time.
