Longing to Walk

Sweet Jesus, I long…
To love…
To serve…
To be.
I want so much…
To give You
All of
Me.
As children long to play,
So I
Long
To play.
I want to be obedient…
And still
Make You
happy
Each day.
Walk with me…
As I search
To walk
Your path.
I pray Your mercy
And grace…
Would deter
Your wrath.

Growing In Christ

Growing in Christ day by day,
I struggle to avoid a fall.
I serve my God whom I love and trust.
I seek to answer the call.
Studying His word,
I research for my work.
Kneeling prayer, I commit
To obey His every word.
Close to my Savior, I walk.
Careful to watch for snares.
I smile to know I can trust Him/
Joy to know He cares.

God, What Do I Write?

God, what do I write?
What do I testify to?
Who do I testify to?
What do I do to make sure it’s written?
I want to serve You
In the way You have planned for me.
In whatever way I am unprepared,
Prepare me.
Wherever I am failing You,
Lift me up to You.
My life is Yours.
ALWAYS.
My soul is Yours!
ETERNALLY!

Engaging

Engaging in the question,
I ask if God is speaking.
I watch for any clues
that He may be leaking.
Engaging in the move,
I dread the repeated packing.
I hope this is maturity,
no need for backtracking.
Engaging in the meet,
I listen as clear as I can.
I am walking in so alone,
then remember He has my hand.
Engaging in the land,
I seek the place He has for me.
No matter where it is,
Christ has set me free.

Keeping Christ First

Keeping Christ first
is the key to everything.
For in following Him,
obedience it will bring.
So many challenges
of this world will arise.
The wisdom hard to find
is in keeping our eyes on Christ.
People are the most challenging.
Do we shun or reach?
Just follow Christ.
Our testimony will preach.
In the end it is Christ
we are to trust and obey.
Seeking to please Him
in every way.

What Have I Come To?

Unable to communicate,
unable to do,
seeking for my purpose,
what have I come to?
That which I know
does nothing I see.
That I do
offends and disagrees.
That which others want
is not your desire,
and if it is,
I’m obviously fired.
Hanging on
to hanging in,
I wonder if
I’ll glorify you again.

Broken Comfort

Where are You? Where are You?
I can’t see where You are?
Are You calling for me?
Are You too far?
Trying to seek Your will,
to know, accept, and obey
can be so confusing
when we seem to lose our way.
Crying for You we try
to know what You want us to do.
Sometimes we are completely broken
just because we can’t see You.
“There you are. There you are.
My child, I see where you are.
I am right here beside you.
I am never too far.”
Your comforting voice and hand
let us know our God cares,
and that even when we can’t see You,
You’re always there.
