Worthy of Unconditional Trust

You lift my weary hands
That they might praise Your name.
My self condemning tongue
Is Yours to tame.
The love, the care, the unending mercy
All glorify who You are.
Your long suffering grace
Is never too far.
The sacrifice of giving Your Son.
The plan to set us free.
The giving of His life on the cross
To allow ours to be.
The reconciliation wrought for us.
The restoration plan.
The salvation of a world
On the shoulders of one Man.
Worthy of praise
And unconditional trust.
I love You, Father!
I love You, Jesus!

Descriptive Action

Frayed mind. Short circuit.
Unsure of how to work it.
Calloused heart. Dried well.
There will be no crying spell.
Damaged weapons. False alarms.
Eventually disarmed.
Strategic boundaries. Fine lines.
Everyone hides behind.
Wayward sinner. Prodigal son.
In Bethlehem it was begun.
Tainted daughter. Alabaster box.
Anointing oil for His dear cause.
Rolling stone. Bright ascension.
Before God our names are mentioned.
Tender mercy. Sweet salvation.
We have received reconciliation.

Past, Present, and Future Sinner

A sinner trapped in a sinful world.
A saved sinner struggling to resist.
My fellow Christians insist it’s easy.
Yet the temptations seem to persist.
Years have passed since my rebirth,
And every day I fight to obey.
My Lord and Savior was crucified once,
And my renewed sin is how I repay.
My Christian friends would say, Don’t write that!”
“Don’t encourage Satan to continue!”
But I write exactly what is fact.
When Christ himself knows it to be true.
I stumble, I fall, I fail my Savior daily.
Though I dream of perfection, I defect.
My Savior has given me mercy and salvation.
My actions could convince that I reject.
A word or two formed upon this paper.
Only the Holy Spirit can create a masterpiece.
When Christ forgives you of your sins,
Let past, present, and future be your peace.

God, the Miracle

Times of crisis shall arise,
And God will meet us there.
Misery of heartaches cease,
For God shall take the bare.

Depth of darkened nights will be,
Yet God will be the light
To guide us in the right direction,
One to escape those nights.

Life will ask of new retirements
And try to steal the youth,
But God is there with miracles
That shall bring us to the truth.

Raise your hands in prayer and praise
The God who saves our lives,
And gives us back a peaceful home
To place our restless child.

God Sends Love

God sends love and the world is beautiful.
God sends mercy and He saves the ugly.
God sends grace and the ugly is revived.
God sends peace and the heart takes comfort.
God sends comfort and the world is at peace.
How many more blessings from God I could count.
Everything He does is out of love.
Everything about Him is love.
He is love.
There’s no other love I’d rather have.
For His love allows me to love,
To be loved,
And to share love.
Thank You, Jesus, for loving me,
And everyone else.
You really know what love is.
Thank You for teaching me about love,
And allowing me to be a part of it.
The world is so beautiful.
God sends You to earth,
And the world is given salvation,
The world is given love,
I pray I’ll always show You love,
And share Yours with others.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN

How in the world do I write what I have seen?

How do I testify, yet beautify the ugly that’s been?

If I tell all of the good and none of the bad,

No one will ever believe the good I’ve had.

Yet if I tell all the bad and not the good,

I and You would be very misunderstood.

Different worlds have different backgrounds,

And even joy has different ways to abound.

You have saved me from so much bad,

Your salvation being what made me glad.

Yet so many have fallen along the way,

Sometimes it seems necessary to say.

How unfair it seems not to recognize

Souls who have had such tragic lives.

Not everyone wants to destroy their world,

But not everyone has the privilege of self-control.

What I have seen I will have to write,

As I wait for You my pen to guide.

May it always be to glorify You

And every word be faithfully true.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

My Jesus, My God, My Comforter

At the altar is where I found my Father, my Comforter and my Friend.
I was told of love and forgiveness that would never end.
This person that I had wronged still loved me
And instead of punishing, wanted to set me free.

-CHORUS:
This was my Jesus, my God, and my Comforter who came to claim
My soul for His own, by my very name.
He did not leave me there drowning in my sin.
He cared too much to ever be without me again.

Troubles continued to follow me every since that day
Trying to get me to turn the other way,
But Jesus has been there through every trying test
Showering me with His protection and sweet rest.

-CHORUS-

Because a saint cared and was willing to obey the call,
I found my dearest friend to help me through it all.
Someday I will get to thank that saint in action
For reaching out to save a child with compassion.

-CHORUS-

Time and Time Again

Time and time again,
You give so much to us.
Instead of giving praise,
we cry, “You are so unjust.”
Time and time again,
we whine for what we want.
We reject You for something else
that we merely use to flaunt.
Time and time again,
You must punish us with
consequences we created
with our fleshly sin.
Time and time again,
we cry for You to rescue.
We need salvation
from what we asked of You.
Time and time again,
we come to see Your heart.
Though we can be so cruel,
You hate for us to be apart.

Who Jesus Is

Jesus is the Son of God
come to save sinful man.
He has given up His comforts
to help us understand.
Even the demon spirits
and Satan Himself
know that Jesus is the Son of God
come to help.
While they might disapprove,
we should be glad.
Jesus has come to renew
all that was once bad.
Accept His salvation
and then tell your brother.
We are to do good
as we love one another.

A Day of Revelation

Revelation… a revealing of something,
something unknown.
I am so glad you sent the angel
and that John was shown.
What a book of love
to exalt Your Son,
and to declare His vengeance
on what evil has done.
A tender leading in
for a much needed correction.
A warning of things to come
and a promise of protection.
A lifetime ahead
for those on either side.
Those who choose You go home.
The unbelieving, with evil must abide.
Harsh realities are unavoidable
in that day of revelation.
One’s only hope for escape
in Christ’s salvation.

Dominion is His

Great and strong is the LORD
Mighty and powerful is He.
His enemies flee His wrath.
His prodigal children plea.
His strength displays His character.
His character conveys His demand.
His holiness validates
His authority to command.
His vengeance is His pleasure.
His pleasure is to forgive.
Condemnation is His to sentence.
Clemency is His to give.
Pardon is His escape.
Redemption His restoration.
Salvation is His to offer
Because of His resurrection.

Your Influence

Your precious love abides. Your Spirit lives inside.
Your presence pleases me. Your comfort eases me.
Your guiding light leads. My obedience heeds.
Your word instructs. My discipline trusts.
Your hymn lifts my voice. I praise by choice.
Your encouragement cheers. Your tenderness endears.
Your mercy secures. Your grace assures.
Your salvation saves. My humility behaves.
Your insight inspires. My rebellion retires.

Your Display of Love

What a masterpiece You have created
in the framework of the cross.
A journey for the adventurous,
and salvation for the lost.
A bridge for those trapped
in an enemy land.
For those struggling to crawl,
a helping hand.
A fresh canvas for the destroyed,
You supply a new start.
What seemed like a throw away
is now a work of art.
Every detail flatters Your craft,
every stroke illuminates
the light You bring to each soul
that You chose to create.
Hung out for display and all to see,
it draws the hungry soul.
The journey is fulfilled,
the lost made whole.
