You See Through It All

Here alone with just You and me.
That’s the way I like it to be.
You alone within my heart and soul
Can make me feel completely whole.
When peace escapes my fretting mind,
It’s You I need to seek and find.
When burdens weigh my soul to the ground,
You bid me, “Come. Lay them down.”
You place Your arms beneath to carry,
Then linger still just to tarry.
When darkness lies to my searching eyes,
You help me to see through the disguise.
You light my world and set me free.
You smile and say, “My child, it’s Me!” 🙂

Thanks for coming for me! ❤

Missing Footprints

Why do I bother to tell anyone I ail?
It only adds to the list of “I fail.”
I fail to convey my sincerity of pain,
And I fail to pass the test “sane.”
If no one is going to believe me,
And my body will only deceive me,
How will I ever recover
From what we fail to discover?
What a puzzle. What a task.
Why do I bother to ask?
Day by day I will tarry,
Taking whatever burden I must carry.
I will do what I can do while I can,
And rest when I can no longer stand.
My Savior will then show me the hint,
“Notice any missing footprints?”

For You, My Best Friend

Just for You, I will try to trust.
Though it’s scary, I see I must.
I cannot reach those I avoid.
I must not remain so paranoid.
Your people are made in Your image.
And I must make sure I remember it.
Many of Your children are lost and unsaved.
Their paths are so dark and unpaved.
I cannot promise anything to You.
But you know my intentions are true.
I lay my soul to rest in sleep,
And know that my future You keep.
No matter who I trust or believe in,
I know that You are my Best Friend.

I’ve Got Your Number

Tired and exhausted,
I attempt to rest in Your hands.
My body so weak and tired
That only Your healing touch understands.
Nightfall, thunderstorms, pouring rain…
They fall together.
Yet I will take shelter with You
In all forms of weather.
Life speaks to even my dream
And I vision Your sight.
Trust in You and Your Son to come,
And He’ll be my Guiding Light.
Underneath the sky and moon,
I rest my soul to slumber.
If there is a need that arises,
I know I’ve got Your number.

God and I Will Win!

God, we’re gonna do it.
We’re gonna fight this sin.
And with You on my side,
I know we’re gonna win.
The enemy may attack
And I may retreat,
But with You as my Shield,
We will defeat.
Obstacles and doubts
May try to deceive us,
But the power of the blood
Will relieve us.
Fear and lack of faith
May try to discourage,
But Your grace and mercy
Will renew my courage.
Years may pass
As time may be the test,
But throughout eternity
In You I find rest.
We’re gonna do it, God.
We’re gonna win this fight.
Because You, Oh Lord,
Will make everything alright.

ILLNESS

Not a funny matter.
Some fight to live their lives.
Yet some of you make jokes.
Do you really think that’s nice?
Well I have met a stranger
Who is much more sick than I.
And if her tests are what they think,
It might not be too far till she would die.
So as I sit in misery
Over a sore throat pain,
Let me ask God to help her
Give her rest again.

Inspiration: Had strep throat. Was given penicillin. Was talking with a man whose wife was also at the ER and really sick. They thought it was her kidneys making her so gravely ill.
