Literature Interests

Oh so many things I’ve read
That have taken my breath away,
And suddenly made me cry,
Then chased my blues away.
I love the way a writer takes
The saddest things in life
And turn them into ecstasy,
Like the edges of a knife.
It’s so amazing how they find
The images that they have.
So many fantasies resemble mine,
And some I’ve sweetly had.
If ever you read a book on hand,
Or anything to read,
Please share your literature.
I find it’s such a need.

Clinging

Clinging to a mighty God
generous with mercy and grace,
I seek to know His way.
I long to see His face.
He tells me that I’m His
and that He’ll always care.
I just want to know
wherever I go, He’ll be there.
Mindful of His children,
our Father looks out for us.
The great Judge
knows what is just.

Good Courage & Strength

Good courage
is what God wants from us,
to give Him strength
to show He’s just.
If we waiver and cower
or fail to even try,
then we make our testimony
of His strength a lie.
May I show the world
what an awesome God You are.
Your strength and courage
have helped me come so far.
You are worthy, oh God,
of praise and glory.
May my courage and strength
tell of Your amazing story.

It Rained On The Just

He came to salvage and set free.
He was destroyed and nailed to a tree.
He came to love and lead to God.
He was hated, despised, and mocked.
He came to teach and plead for souls.
He was hunted down and betrayed by a mole.
He came to heal and restore from death.
He was beaten and stolen of breath.
He who knew no sin bore our shame,
but our ungratefulness became blame.
We were the crowd crying, “Crucify” Jesus!
It absolutely rained on the just!

Inspiration: Matthew 5:45 KJV
“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
For my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Aaron Was Mightily Used

Set aside and chosen for God,
yet made of flesh, able to sin.
Aaron was mightily used
despite disobedience again and again.
A leader to the people,
responsible for cleansing and prayer.
God told Aaron certain things
to do to show he’s there.
The molten calf, conspiring with Miriam,
even death as a consequence,
did not keep God from using him.
God was his defense.
Just like Aaron, you and I
are made with a promise in mind.
Don’t get defeated and quit.
God can help you shine.

Until

A lot to live up to,
we are blessed by grace.
All that was required?
Jesus took our place.
Expectations are great,
the burden great as well.
Praise God for His mercy,
knowing we will fail.
Requirements met.
Expectations fulfilled.
The law was needed…
UNTIL!
Christ has rescued.
Christ has redeemed.
What He has given
is more than a dream.

Broken Comfort

Where are You? Where are You?
I can’t see where You are?
Are You calling for me?
Are You too far?
Trying to seek Your will,
to know, accept, and obey
can be so confusing
when we seem to lose our way.
Crying for You we try
to know what You want us to do.
Sometimes we are completely broken
just because we can’t see You.
“There you are. There you are.
My child, I see where you are.
I am right here beside you.
I am never too far.”
Your comforting voice and hand
let us know our God cares,
and that even when we can’t see You,
You’re always there.

Mighty Wisdom

A strong and mighty God
is wise to design His way.
Wisdom can be for good
or help people lead others astray.
Therefore God confounds the wise
that He might be the key
to bringing the lost to Himself
and setting the captive free.
Preaching is essential
though to the wise a waste.
God’s word is salvation.
The Spirit gives the taste.
Almighty God,
Your mightiness is King.
Our mightiness fails
in everything.

Ignorant But Not Innocent

Ignorance is such a deceiving cloak
to seeing just how guilty we really are.
We think because we are good in our eyes
that God agrees that we are.
But even God required a sacrifice of blood
for those who sinned in ignorance.
It did matter to Him for a heart
to want forgiveness through repentance,
so much so that He gave His ONLY Son
to shed the ONLY truly innocent blood,
that ignorant sinners may be forgiven
but ONLY after washed in that pure blood.
How mistaken we are to think
we’re too good and innocent for death.
The ONLY perfect person gave His life
so that we may draw eternal breath.

Your Penned Treasure

Oh how deep a treasure
Your word is to my soul.
In green pastures or still waters,
You wonderfully restore my soul.
A comfort and care
no words could describe,
except those that were penned
by Your Holy scribes.
Refreshing and redemptive,
a new start each day.
Your word is life to me.
I seek ALL You have to say.

Church

Church is a place I long to know
and come to see God’s house.
I want to hear His children sing
and watch them become aroused.
I love to see so many souls
gathered to bring Him praise,
to hear the preacher preach the word,
as his voice will sometimes raise,
and all the restless children play,
as they find it hard to sit still,
but oh the sweetest things they say
as they are taught about God’s will.
The choir works so faithfully
to beautify their sound,
to shout a joyful melody
of how they’re heaven bound.
Church is where I long to be
and where I want to belong,
for it makes my world much easier
to hear the faith so strong.

Jesus’ Song for Gail (taken from Song of Solomon 3)

1. By night [from heaven] I sought [Gail], but I found [Gail] not.
2. I will rise now, and go about the [earth to and fro], I will seek [Gail] whom my [Spirit] loveth: I sought [Gail], but I found [Gail] not.
3. The [angels] that go about the [earth] found me: to whom I said, Saw ye [Gail] whom my [Spirit] loveth?
4. It was but a little that I passed from there, but I found [Gail] whom my [Spirit] loveth: I held [Gail], and would not let [Gail] go, until I had brought [Gail] into my [Father’s] house, and into the [presence] of [the Holy Ghost] that conceived me.
5. I charge ye, O ye [children of God running about tending to God’s harvest] that ye stir not up, nor awake [Gail], till [Gail] please.
6. Who is this that cometh [through the fiery trials of her life shining with the light of God upon her]?
7. Behold [Gail lays upon her bed], a [host of angels] are about it, of [the angels of God].
8. They all had swords, being expert in war: every [angel] hath his sword upon his thigh [to protect Gail from things of the night].
9. [Gail is a vessel of the Lord].
10. [Gail is made of God, and is adorned with God’s mercy and grace, so that Gail can carry God’s love for all of God’s children].
11.Go forth, O ye [children of God], and behold [Gail] with the [glory] wherewith [Gail’s Father glorified Gail] in the day of [Gail’s salvation], and in the day of gladness of [Gail’s] heart.

This poem does not belong to me or anyone, yet it is written for every single one of us! It is Song of Solomon Chapter 3 of the Bible. I merely placed my name wherever the word was talking about me (us). Please take a moment, when the Lord allows, to replace my name with yours to read the love your beloved Savior has for you! It is the most beautiful love letter! ❤

While We Lament

Cry, cry, cry,
while we ask why.
Blaming the Lord
for what’s in store.
Yet Jeremiah reminds
of the truth he finds
that despite we transgress,
we are blessed
that God does not consume us.
Instead, He sent Jesus.
His compassions fail not.
He’s a great and faithful God.
Every morning He renews
with His good news.
So why, why, why
do we still cry?
Do we not yet see
His love and mercy?

That I Might Stay True

Lord, as I read of your people
and hear their many struggles of obeying,
I want to avoid jumping to judging,
and sincerely begin praying.
Please help me to keep my eyes,
mind, heart, soul, and all on You.
Help me to never take Your glory,
even if I didn’t mean to.
Keep me faithful, pure, and just,
that my holiness glorifies You.
Help me to resist society
that I might stay true.
Finally, Lord, I pray You stay
and never have reason to turn.
I really don’t want any more
ungodly lessons to learn.

Give to God What is His

Give to God what is His.
He made it a loan to you.
He wants to see our faithfulness,
our cheerfulness too.
Honor God in praise
as He so deserves.
He has no pleasure
in being reserved.
Honor one another
as He has us.
Patience, mercy, forgiveness
are just.
Give to God what is His
without His needing to ask.
His pleasures are forever.
His love will always last.
