Oh Taste and See

Rain trickles down the window pane.
The glass reveals the storm.
The misty clouds drop their blessings
Where the dry ground began to form.
The flowers tilt underneath the weight
Of the life giving moisture,
Yet when the rays of life return
They will regain their posture.
Birds are hidden away for shelter,
Some tucked underneath their set of wings.
Their bird baths are being generously filled,
And soon they will again sing.
The children run and play in the puddles,
And tilt their heads back to taste and see
Oh how good and faithful
The Lord is to you and me.

A Cooling Off

The windows are open.
The sun is shining bright.
Yet the dark clouds
Are just as present
And dropping the rain
Very strong upon the earth.
They are both standing their positions.
The rain pours down the windshield
And windows that are closed.
It’s enough to blur the view.
The world is not as clear.
The breeze caresses the flowers,
Yet is unfelt by the skin.
A cooling off for earth.

Showers of Mercy

Showers of mercy,
Rain on me.
King of kings,
Set me free.
Release my soul
From these chains.
Fill me up
Where life drains.
Hold me close.
Share Your peace.
Make the memory
Of my sins cease.
Lord, my God,
Send me love.
Receive mine back
To You above.

Nature Speaks

Rain falls and beats against the window.
Drops pelt the pane.
Images appear in misty patches of fog.
They disappear with the rain.
Flowers regain their strength.
The storm has rumbled by.
Trails of heaven’s tears
Return to the darkened sky.
Winds blow throughout the earth.
Clouds follow close behind.
Darkness leaves upon request.
Light has spoken so kind.
Beauty whispers a desire to express.
Serenity accepts with a smile.
Kindness welcomes all to pause.
Peace visits for a little while.

Shattered Dream Come True

He was a dream come true,
A dream I came to have,
A dream I came to cherish,
A dream I came to hold.
He told me how he cared,
As held me through my pain,
And as I lived the dream,
I felt the pouring rain.
I don’t know what went wrong,
Or how the dream was shattered,
But all I know is he was a
Beautiful dream come true… shattered…
And that is all that matters,

Unplugging Your Pen

I can’t do it, LORD.
I just can’t stop writing.
It’s like plugging my ears to You.
You are far too exciting!
You share Your secrets
And bless me with insight.
You help me bless others
And shine Your light.
Your words pour down
Like rain on my soul,
Sometimes rushing
Like waves that roll.
How dare I miss
One single Word.
How dare I not share
What I have heard.
Your words give life.
They’re what I breathe.
Without their presence,
My soul doth seethe.
Though doubts can challenge
My obedience to You,
I must write
And share more of You!
