The Lord Can Do!

Churches, children, Christians…
All so alike, yet different.
Unique in the Lord,
Each will serve a purpose.
Pray for yours!
There is still so much more
That the Lord
Can do in each.
Buildings, babes, backsliders…
All with a need
That continues to grow.
Help them, Lord,
To reach their potential.
Thank You, Lord,
For Your protection!

On Sacred Grounds

In his room, a place he calls his own.
This is his space and not for others to know.
For to even enter is to come upon Sacred Grounds..
Sacred Grounds… let’s think about that.
Here is a room where one can enter with purity
And depart with stolen innocence.

As the Christian girl approaches the open door,
It symbolizes the the open invitation to temptation.
Temptation is what consumes this room.
He holds out his hand to the young woman.
She looks into his eyes and comes forward.
His persuasion convinces her entrance.
Yes, she chooses to accept the offer,
And as her heart weakens, seduction is his strength.

Lights are low, music so soft.
They’re alone with how they feel.
Too close to a welcoming bed they dance.
While she struggles to resist the moment,
The moment struggles to insist surrender.
Kisses… so warm upon her neck.
He whispers the soft masculine words.
Her yearnings are put to the ultimate test.
And as she fails to stand her ground,
She lays down with him on his.
Though she has been promised it will feel like heaven,
And the two hearts may feel like it is…
All hell is breaking loose.

The angels have deserted the child of purity.
Purity has deserted the angel.
A Heavenly Father releases the hands of His children,
As His heirs have been erased from HIS WILL!
For while the young man is guilty of stealing her innocence,
She is guilty of treason by sleeping with the enemy.
She has lost her shield in the heat of the battle.
Within the Sacred Grounds, she has been stripped of her armor.
The warrior has been tamed and prepared for conversion.
Her combat instructions were to pray for her enemies,
And to set the example for the prisoners of war,
Just in case the Master of Reason captured a soldier who would
Discover the desire to march as a knight for the King.
Her disobedience has injured the strategic healing
Of a dying cadet by the Captain of Miracles.
General Physician had worked long and hard to salvage the private
From a world of uncertainty
Because the Peacemaker had longed to reassure this skilled man
Of an unfailing love and a heavenly place made just for him
Upon HOLY and Sacred Grounds.

As the trial begins, the judge opens His book.
The transcripts convict the violators of sin and shame.
They are found unworthy to walk upon the Sacred Grounds.
Cast into the fire ignited by the very passion that led to their destruction,
Guilt is all they share.

Inspiration: The Lord was working on me around this time of the possible consequences of seeking or giving into comfort and pleasure. It’s not just me in that moment. Temptation is a struggle for both sexes… and for Christians and non-Christians alike. We are to pray and be support for one another. The enemy is looking for every foothold he can get.

What Have I Come To?

Unable to communicate,
unable to do,
seeking for my purpose,
what have I come to?
That which I know
does nothing I see.
That I do
offends and disagrees.
That which others want
is not your desire,
and if it is,
I’m obviously fired.
Hanging on
to hanging in,
I wonder if
I’ll glorify you again.

My Solid Desert Rock

Wasting away amid this desert,
I cling to this rock.
My exhausted and defeated vessel
is in shock.
With no strength of my own,
I lay amid the dirt
praising your name
that I am too numb to hurt.
This arid and burning heat
actually comforts my wounds.
My oasis is in the hope
of You coming for me soon.
I am well aware of the journey
it took to get this far,
and only You know the way.
You are my guiding star.
This rock… this completely solid rock
is where I take refuge.
What happens from here
is completely up to You.

It Rained On The Just

He came to salvage and set free.
He was destroyed and nailed to a tree.
He came to love and lead to God.
He was hated, despised, and mocked.
He came to teach and plead for souls.
He was hunted down and betrayed by a mole.
He came to heal and restore from death.
He was beaten and stolen of breath.
He who knew no sin bore our shame,
but our ungratefulness became blame.
We were the crowd crying, “Crucify” Jesus!
It absolutely rained on the just!

Inspiration: Matthew 5:45 KJV
“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
For my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

My Gift is Yours

This writing You gave me years ago
has always been between just us,
but You have allowed it to bless others,
thereby glorifying the name of Jesus.
Many times You have been my friend
to come to with my problems in ink.
Many times You have rescued me
when my life convinced me I would sink.
Your words have always encouraged me first,
as I was always blessed to read first.
And then You have delightfully surprised me
when others have said it quenched their thirst.
A thirst for You and an encouraging word
to comfort their aching soul.
You have allowed this pen
to help You make others feel whole.
Thank You for sharing with me
and all those You’ve shared Yourself with.
To honor and glorify Your Holy name
is my ever prayerful wish.

Obedience = God’s Will

Young, unknown,
untrained, unwanted,
yet unmoved!
David was chosen
by God himself,
despite being unapproved.
Willingness to obey,
faithful to his own,
a man after God’s own heart.
David won his victory
when asked to duty,
not knowing his vital part.
Don’t turn away
what God can give
when we simply obey.
The battle is fierce,
the army unkind,
but God will have his way.

Aaron Was Mightily Used

Set aside and chosen for God,
yet made of flesh, able to sin.
Aaron was mightily used
despite disobedience again and again.
A leader to the people,
responsible for cleansing and prayer.
God told Aaron certain things
to do to show he’s there.
The molten calf, conspiring with Miriam,
even death as a consequence,
did not keep God from using him.
God was his defense.
Just like Aaron, you and I
are made with a promise in mind.
Don’t get defeated and quit.
God can help you shine.

Comforters, Console!

Comforters?
We, too, are to be comforters?
With the very comfort of God
that we have received
from God Himself?
We could never be God,
nor match His divine comfort.
The Holy Spirit is a Comforter
like no one else!
But it is that same Holy Spirit
who will work through us
when we obey God
to comfort others
with the comfort He gave us,
not our own,
but His.
Comfort His people!
Console them!
They need it,
as much as you and me!
Yea, Lord, Amen.

His Hand On You

Is His hand on you?
Is His hand on your mouth?
Is His hand on your life?
Is He calling you out?
God chooses His leaders.
He chooses His soldiers.
Where they feel inadequate,
God will make them bolder.
What task is He assigning?
What assignment does He give?
How is He asking you to trust?
How is He asking you to live?

Ignorant But Not Innocent

Ignorance is such a deceiving cloak
to seeing just how guilty we really are.
We think because we are good in our eyes
that God agrees that we are.
But even God required a sacrifice of blood
for those who sinned in ignorance.
It did matter to Him for a heart
to want forgiveness through repentance,
so much so that He gave His ONLY Son
to shed the ONLY truly innocent blood,
that ignorant sinners may be forgiven
but ONLY after washed in that pure blood.
How mistaken we are to think
we’re too good and innocent for death.
The ONLY perfect person gave His life
so that we may draw eternal breath.

In Love With a Beautiful God

In love with a beautiful God,
I am blessed to be set aside for Him alone.
My days and nights and are His.
I have a very special love of my own.
Life can be so easily distracting.
Marriage would just distract me more.
Though marriage is a blessed union,
He has given me Himself to adore.
Many laugh in suspicious tone,
unable to understand such contentment.
Others are afraid I run off the seeking,
and retaliate with resentment.
But I am enjoying a walk with Christ
that took so long to achieve.
It wasn’t easy getting here.
It was His love that helped me receive.
Praying for patience and understanding
from a world that just doesn’t know
that Jesus got a hold of my heart
and He won’t let me go.

PS. The line with Jesus got a hold of my heart come from a hymn that I had to sing as a solo when I was 9 years old in foster care. The church our cottage attended had me sing  Jesus Got a Hold of My Life. The chorus read:

Jesus got a hold of my life and He won’t let me go.
Jesus got into my heart. He got into my soul.
I use to be oh so sad.
But now I just free and glad
Cause Jesus got a hold of my life and He won’t let me go.

God, Please Want Me

God, no matter who may like it or may not,
I love you with all the love I’ve got.
You’re all I’ve ever wanted or ever needed.
You are the blessing for which I’ve always pleaded.
Don’t ever leave me please because I’d never be the same.
To tell the world I love You brings not one bit of shame.
They could kill me or steal my love,
but they’d only send me to heaven above,
a home where You are waiting to give me a life
where I’ll never be haunted again by heartache and strife.
Please say You’ll stay because I’ll never leave.
Why I fell so easy, I don’t know, but I’m so glad I believe.
The only horror I can see is to find You don’t want me.
But even if You didn’t, my love would always be.

The Invitation Stands

God’s waiting for an answer to His request,
to come to the gathering of all His welcomed guests.
He’s waiting to bring you closer to a life of endless love,
a paradise away from pain in the heaven up above.
All the angels are serving well to try and give us help
on how to learn to do things right as we give things of ourselves.
We’re all invited to a place where everyone is kind.
Love in God is what we’ll praise. It will never leave our mind.
God, I hope you know I say I want to respond real soon.
Yes, I want to be with you and hope the others will want to, too.

Only Through God

Only through God can we live and survive.
Only through Jesus may we endure sweet peace.
Only by the grace of God can we learn to love.
Only through Jesus Christ can we be saved.
I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and confessed my sins.
I asked Jesus to save me, and God did!
I AM SAVED!!!
I believe in God!
I belong to God!
