Strength to Be Weak

Lord, please forgive me…
For selfishly asking for my life…
When it is Yours…
Given to the One who gave His to me.
Please forgive me…
For trying to usurp Your authority
When I plead to have my life ended
Before You have accomplished with it
What You want from it.
Even if it is only to be obedient.
Help me to do whatever it is You ask..
Whether to be strong
Or to have the strength to be weak.
In Jesus‘ Name, Amen!

Deceitfully Hearted

Do we even love God…

is the heart of all.

We can pretend all we want.

He has the final call.

Obedience is the heart of love

to a God who gave the heart.

There is no love inside

when we choose to depart.

We can push the limit

on the heart of God.

He knows if you’re

really His or not.

Search your heart for God.

He is there waiting for you.

He is willing

to make your heart true.

Harmless As Doves

Wilt thou be made whole?
That is so easy to answer.
Faith is the cure
But obedience the enhancer,
Obedience that includes
To love one another,
Not to be so violent
Or ugly to others.
We are not to let
Our egos be pleased.
We are to be of good cheer
And share our peace.

The Challenge of Christianity

Christianity is an ongoing challenge…
to be what we are suppose to be…
to avoid that which is forbidden…
to not care what others think of us…
yet be precisely careful of our testimony.
Every moment is accounted for
and every word speaks volumes.
Our silence can be the peacemaker
or the strife that destroys everything.
We are to be strong and follow God.
We are to allow our weaknesses to be His strength.
We are to bear one another’s burdens,
yet work out our own salvation.
We are to be bold and speak up
and save others from the flames.
We are to be quiet, sympathetic,
and not throw around the blame.
There is so much required of us,
so much expected of us,
and so much given through us.
Balancing honor and disobedience
while never separating the two
is a challenge only God can help us through.
Lord, we ask You to help us to always
honor and obey in love.
You are worthy of the glory!

Unplugging Your Pen

I can’t do it, LORD.
I just can’t stop writing.
It’s like plugging my ears to You.
You are far too exciting!
You share Your secrets
And bless me with insight.
You help me bless others
And shine Your light.
Your words pour down
Like rain on my soul,
Sometimes rushing
Like waves that roll.
How dare I miss
One single Word.
How dare I not share
What I have heard.
Your words give life.
They’re what I breathe.
Without their presence,
My soul doth seethe.
Though doubts can challenge
My obedience to You,
I must write
And share more of You!

Keeping Christ First

Keeping Christ first
is the key to everything.
For in following Him,
obedience it will bring.
So many challenges
of this world will arise.
The wisdom hard to find
is in keeping our eyes on Christ.
People are the most challenging.
Do we shun or reach?
Just follow Christ.
Our testimony will preach.
In the end it is Christ
we are to trust and obey.
Seeking to please Him
in every way.

Being Ruthlike

Following God in rough times
can lead to good things…
comfort, security, a home,
and a new song to sing.
Following God when all seems good
can leave a testimony stronger.
When we obey others
we can give God honor.
Blessings are mercy.
Blessings are grace.
We have blessings
when God is in the place.
Giving all to God
no matter what others see,
allows God to honor us
so He can receive all glory.
