God Let Me Live a Little Longer

God helped me.
God loved me.
God let me live a little longer.
What a wonderful and merciful God I have
(we all have).
What a miraculous, warming love
Provided by His blood scarred hands.

God, I get scared… easily and fast… and hard.
Please help me to know the good from the bad
And the right from the wrong
Before I pay for it.
I’m sorry for all of my sins.
It’s wrong to do anything intentionally wrong!
God I love You…
More than anyone, anybody, or anything.
I love You, Father! Forever Loving You!

To Be a Good Christian

What does it mean to be a good Christian?
How can anyone say they know?
Only God knows what’s in our hearts.
And He’s with us all the day.
Sure we make a few mistakes and probably always will,
But isn’t it up to God to decide which sin is bigger than the other?
He remembers that we are human.
That is something a lot of people forget.
If we love Jesus and pray to Him, and try to do our best,
Isn’t that being a good Christian?
I’m afraid I don’t know the answer.
But I do know I love God.
And though I may not be perfect, I am trying to do it His way.
Not mine or nobody else’s.
If anything is going wrong, I’m sure God will tell me,
And show me a way to fix it.
Thank You, God, for the knowledge
Of knowing You’re merciful and loving.

His Parental Love

Knowing our sinful nature and God’s just ways,
makes it scary to have to live for those unwanted days.
One can know how loving and merciful God is,
but one also knows that mighty vengeance of His.
The soul is so ready to love and revere God,
but the carnal flesh simply is not.
Knowing that sin brings justified discipline,
makes one afraid of the world and body we’re stuck in,
but God sends the Comforter to remind
that God loves us at all times.
And while He can not tolerate sin in us,
He loved us enough to send Jesus.
We must trust that God knows what He’s doing.
He’s not throwing us away, he is pursuing.
Like a child/parent relationship, we have a bond.
His parental love will always carry on.

2-6-15 Note to You

Lord God,
Thank You for being so personal,
for always being there for me.
Thank You for being the friend
everyone wishes they had
(and do if they give themselves to You).
Thank You for listening to
my ranting, venting, and complaining.
Thank You for whispering, speaking, and shouting to me.
Thank You for holding me
and emboldening me.
Thank You for helping me
get through each trying day.
And thank You for giving me strength
when it feels like I have none.
Thank You for putting up with
my crying, my whining, and my letting You down.
Thank You for forgiving, restoring, and rebuilding me…
to be faithful, strong, and obedient.
Thank You for loving me,
and for being You!

Faithful Compassion

How incredibly amazing
does Your word remind us
how You are.
So many times You blessed
and forgave Israel.
You were never too far.
Despite the whining,
the selfish complaining,
the ungrateful hearts.
You were loving
and merciful
to not depart.
God, Oh Father,
may we ever
praise
Your Holy name,
Your Holy grace,
Your Holy ways.

Inspiration Psalm 78

Still Taking Our Place

Born and stricken.
Beaten and slain.
All your sorrows
were for our gain.
Mocked and scorned.
Denied and rejected.
You love us despite
that You are neglected.
Loving and merciful.
Full of grace.
You are still
taking our place.
Humbled and thankful,
I bow before Your heart.
Thank You for reassuring
we’ll never be apart.
