Word of God

The word of God.
It tells me so much.
How Jesus loves me.
How He loves you.
How He died for us all.
It shares His own words with me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,
Ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
How comforting the word is.
“My peace I leave unto you.”
How loving and kind.
“Loving one another.”
How moving.
“Jesus wept.”
I cannot stop reading the pages.
They speak of a Father’s love and sacrifice.
“For God so loved the world
That He gave His only begotten Son.”
My God loves me
All over these pages.
Thank You, God, for Your Word.
Thank You, Jesus, for obeying it.
Thank You for sharing it with me.

God is a Wonderful Person

God is a wonderful person
Who knows how to love me.
No matter what I do wrong,
He can still put up with me.
He knows what I want.
He knows what I need.
And He knows it has nothing
To do with greed.
He’s very patient and loving,
Kind, and understanding.
He’s never too forceful,
Nor too demanding.
I wish I could do for Him
What He’s done for me,
But there will never be a way
To give back the generosity.
Oh, woe to the love of the God
By which I am known.
He’ll never abandon me,
Or leave me alone.
Praise GOD!
Love Him or not,
He is the One.
Love God’s Son.

Beautiful Souls In Trusting Growth

Friendships are so rare and unique.
All the ones I have are too.
Beautiful souls in trusting growth,
Always knowing what to do.
Forgiving you for what you fault,
And loving you for yourself.
Always there to lend a hand
Any time you ask for help.
Love is kept within the heart,
And always there to give.
Beautiful friendships in a life,
One I’m glad to live.
My friends are very special friends
To which I’ll always love.
I’m so glad to have my faithful thorns.
I’ll never give them up.

What It Costs

To have someone care for you,
You must be willing to live alone.
To have someone to care for,
You must make it on your own.
To love someone so very much,
You must be ready to let them go.
To have someone love you too,
You must accept a simple no.
To have a friend be there,
You must be willing to sacrifice.
To be a friend to them,
You must be aware of the price.

PS. I am so glad God came into my life and taught me a much better way of love, friendship, and caring for one another. The last thing we should let anyone convince us (including ourselves) is that we are better off alone. Our relationships with one another should reflect our relationship with Christ, so that others may see their need for Him, and how marvelously wonderful His love is! ❤

To Be a Good Christian

What does it mean to be a good Christian?
How can anyone say they know?
Only God knows what’s in our hearts.
And He’s with us all the day.
Sure we make a few mistakes and probably always will,
But isn’t it up to God to decide which sin is bigger than the other?
He remembers that we are human.
That is something a lot of people forget.
If we love Jesus and pray to Him, and try to do our best,
Isn’t that being a good Christian?
I’m afraid I don’t know the answer.
But I do know I love God.
And though I may not be perfect, I am trying to do it His way.
Not mine or nobody else’s.
If anything is going wrong, I’m sure God will tell me,
And show me a way to fix it.
Thank You, God, for the knowledge
Of knowing You’re merciful and loving.

Experience His Amazing Grace

God is caring and loving.
His love will never cease.
His miracles continue.
There will yet be peace.
Come into His heavenly world.
Let Him in your heart.
Let today be the first of
A long and wonderful start.
The warmth you’ll feel within,
Could never be replaced.
So turn to God and experience
His amazing grace.
Jesus will forgive you
Of any sin you confess.
For as He died upon the cross,
He laid your sin to rest.
Your Lord is waiting for you,
Expecting only love,
To take you to a heavenly world
Waiting up above.

Friends of Spiritual Support

Friends and Spiritual Support…
God, You bless me with a great deal of both.
These people must carry God in their heart.
There is no other way they can inspire me,
Or make me cry for joy with such Godly thoughts,
Without Your Spirit placing them in their hearts.
Praise You for allowing me such an honor in hearing these words,
For the blessing of being the receiving party of such heavenly concern.
I know these souls truly care about me.
Anyone who takes enough time out of their day
To kneel on their knees before You,
And talk to You on behalf of me is truly a friend.
Thank You for hearing their words and answering their prayers.
You are great, oh Lord, to give me such a gift in these friends.
I just pray, dear Lord, that they are able to find comfort
In seeing Your beautiful work.
I thank You for looking after them when I cannot,
And that when I don’t even know they are praying for me
That You are there for them.

I thank You that I can trust You to look after them with love
And that when I don’t know to say thank you or I love you to them
That You find ways to say it all… with undeniable meaning.
I thank You that I can take time out to go down upon my knees in prayer
For all those I know who pray for me, those whom I don’t know that do,
And most importantly for those I know or don’t know need a prayer.
I thank You that You hear their cries, know their hearts, understand their pain.
Thank You for sitting with them in silence.
There are times when we just don’t know what to think,
And really don’t want to hear from those who think they know it all.
You spare us from such unwise moments and very unwise people.
Thank You for being wise enough to know that sometimes we just need
Someone to sit with us through the uncertainty and the unexplainable.

Thank You for being so loving and patient enough to be willing to suffer with us,
But also ready with an encouraging word when we’re ready for it,
And a spirit of joy for when we are ready to dance with it again.
Thank You for friends who fulfill that role for You.
That is what a friend is… a friend in need… with all understanding.
I pray that You will continue to allow me to be such an obedient child
In being a Godly friend for those whom You know need one, or just want one.
I give You the glory for such a privilege.
I am only able to do it because You enable me.
Praise You for the friend I have in Jesus.
His understanding is the greatest of all friends.
I praise You that I can share Him with all my friends, and strangers.
And I praise You that He is a friend to all those I’ll never even know…
Until we get to heaven,
When I can thank You for all of my friends,
Especially the one I have in You.

Nourishing and Bringing Up Children

Nourishing and bringing up children,
Not such an easy task.
They don’t always want to do
Whatever you ask,
Even if it is what’s best for them,
Or if it brings them blessing.
What children will end up doing
Will keep you guessing.
Even so, they are worth every
Sorrow and care.
How rewarding to know
They still want you there.
Does God feel the same way
As we rebel against our Father God?
I praise His name that He does!
I’m thankful for the love He’s got!

Still Taking Our Place

Born and stricken.
Beaten and slain.
All your sorrows
were for our gain.
Mocked and scorned.
Denied and rejected.
You love us despite
that You are neglected.
Loving and merciful.
Full of grace.
You are still
taking our place.
Humbled and thankful,
I bow before Your heart.
Thank You for reassuring
we’ll never be apart.

Love For Others

So many souls starving for love
have never encountered His presence,
or at least have not been aware
of His very essence.
They have searched and failed,
or trusted in the wrong kind of love.
By the time they have heard,
they doubt the great God above.
They do not know His saving grace.
They do not trust His way.
They do not understand
the love they throw away.
We are to be that love for God,
as we love one another,
bringing God to these hungry souls
by esteeming one above the other.
By loving and forgiving those
who have wronged us,
we are showing others
how His love is pure and just.
Lord, teach me to love my neighbor
as I would love myself.
I pray and thank the Holy Spirit
for all heavenly help.

Faithfully Pursued

For so long You pursued me
and sought to protect my heart.
You tried so earnestly
to keep us from being apart.
Even in those times
when I thought I had flown,
You were so loving and patient
to show me I was never alone.
How grateful I am
all these years later
that I finally heard Your plea
to make my life greater.
Nothing I ever pursued
has ever compared to You.
How thankful I am
that You are faithful and true.

His Joy in Children

Children are such a pleasure to Jesus.
Jesus is such a pleasure to His Father.
No matter how it may seem inappropriate,
to Jesus children are not a bother.
They are young and innocent,
with hearts ready to forgive.
They have such a lively energy.
They definitely teach joy to live.
Open hearts, open minds, wide-eyed,
they eagerly take in His words.
They enjoy the love in His stories.
They will remember what they’ve heard.
Be careful not to offend even one.
Be careful not to destroy.
They are His special treasure.
They are His delight and joy.

My God (He Understands)

He’s gentle and kind,
loving and understanding.
He’s never too scornful,
nor too demanding.
He understands the pain
I feel when I’m hurt.
He knows that I’m human
and am made from dirt.
He knows I’m a sinner
and do the evil things,
but He knows I’m a believer
in all that He brings.
——
He doesn’t expect miracles
when I’m down on myself.
He doesn’t disown me
when I know I need help.
He doesn’t defriend me
when I abuse His love for me.
He doesn’t try to push me
when I’m too scared to see.
Instead, He is there
to show me He cares
and that my heartache and pain
are my feelings He shares.
—–
He gives me His word
and provides it with blood
to say that it’s as worthy
as it was of the flood.
He hears me in prayer
and accepts my apology,
doesn’t betray me
or says He forgot me,
takes my hand and
leads me to light,
holds me and comforts me
to help me through the night.
—–
And when I am scared
or feeling alone,
He doesn’t abandon me
to face it on my own.
Instead, He is there
to say, “I’m here,”
to comfort my soul
and dry my tear.
He won’t be ashamed
or laugh at my fear.
He’ll erase all the clouds
and make everything clear.
He won’t be angered
to see me in doubt.
He won’t deny me
or throw me out.
Instead, He’ll always love me
and lead me by the hand
because He’s waiting to take me home
and tell me why He understands.
