A Safe Embrace

Here I lean, Lord, in Your safe embrace
Wondering why I must leave Your loving presence
When all I want to do is stay… and stay safe.
Life calls us away, but at Your bidding.
You draw us out to this waiting challenge
That will bring us ever closer to You,
As it teaches us strength only hardship can bring.
I never desire to leave Your side,
But You show a deeper part of Your heart
Each time that You welcome me home.
Just when I think Your love is the strongest,
I find that You are stronger than I can imagine.
Thank You for being a love that is good.
I am so grateful for it.
I long for the day when I’ll never leave again.

Pouring Out Life

Life pouring out of a hurting soul.
It trickles as it falls.
A Savior’s blood pours forth to save,
His loving voice calls.
“My loved one I see the pain that drains,
And know all too well.
How it felt to suffer and agonize
When on My knees I fell.
I cried out to My Father to remove My burden,
Yet accepted what He gave.
And in return He strengthened Me
To bare it to My grave.
It took that death to restore that life,
And remove the burden within.
Now I have eternal life,
And will never lose it again.
I gave that life to give you yours
Because I love you so.
The Father longs to strengthen you,
And let your burden go.”

A Gift of Time

No greater gift can someone give
Than the gift of their time…
Their presence…
To talk…
Or just to be there.
What love You give us…
That You want from us!
Of course the greatest gift
Of life on the cross
Is still the greatest gift ever given
By our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Talk about a gift of time…
Presence…
And just being there.

A Damsel Revived

Once upon a time, a damsel danced despite.
Smothered by darkness so long, she longed for light.
Discipline and expectations had left her scarred,
But someone greater was hidden in her heart.
Opening her eyes with careful attention,
He drew her closer to His dimension.
Strengthened by love of someone true,
She heard the whisper, “I love you.”
Held by a hand of genuine care,
He let her know He was always there.
Wounds that were permanent began to heal.
No longer numb, she began to feel.
Delightfully excited for the maiden’s new chance
At love and peace in a heavenly romance.
And as she finds joy in her life anew,
She shares His message, “God loves you!”

My God, My Everything!

My God, my Friend.
I love You to the end,
And then
I love You eternally,
Forevermore.
Thank You for loving me
The same…
And more than
I could ever imagine.
Thank You for spending
Quality time with me.
Please forgive me
Of when I cheat You
Of such moments to treasure.
You are my Soulmate!
My Bridegroom.
My Lord.
My Savior.
I love You!

Afraid, Yet I Do

Afraid to believe and yet I do.
I am so scared to believe in love, life, and people.
Yet I believe in the very God who made all three.
Afraid to trust and yet I do.
I am afraid to trust in anyone or anything,
Yet I trust in this God I cannot see.
I trust and love and believe
In someone I’ve never met.
Someone I’ve never held.
And yet I have give Him my life.
I make decisions according to His pleasure.
I strive to obey Him.
And when I wrong Him,
I am heartbroken and regret
Because I am saddened to know I grieve Him.
Trust, love, believe.
I am afraid of them all,
And yet I believe, love, and trust the very meaning of them all…
God!

Focusing on You

Jesus, with all that was promised to be true
And always be there,
I pray that You will never be like they were,
No longer able to care.
In all the cruel and selfish things
I irresponsibly do to You,
I pray, Dear Jesus, that You always know
My love for You is true.
Though everything I say and do
Contradict my desire to obey,
I pray, Dear Lord, You would restore in me
A clean and righteous way.
For all the thoughts of evil things
That I allow to come between us,
I pray, Sweet Jesus, that You would win
And help me to just refocus.
