A Leg in the Journey

LORD, this journey never seems to end.
Nothing ever seems to stop.
There is no break,
no pause,
no catching one’s breath.
Yet there is so much glory
for so many blessings
that seem hidden
in the fog.
Thank You for being on this journey
with me.
No one ever compares to You.
You’re the only one
who never leaves.
You’re the only one
who can’t,
or won’t.
I’ll take the reminder
of You
for my strength.

2-6-15 Note to You

Lord God,
Thank You for being so personal,
for always being there for me.
Thank You for being the friend
everyone wishes they had
(and do if they give themselves to You).
Thank You for listening to
my ranting, venting, and complaining.
Thank You for whispering, speaking, and shouting to me.
Thank You for holding me
and emboldening me.
Thank You for helping me
get through each trying day.
And thank You for giving me strength
when it feels like I have none.
Thank You for putting up with
my crying, my whining, and my letting You down.
Thank You for forgiving, restoring, and rebuilding me…
to be faithful, strong, and obedient.
Thank You for loving me,
and for being You!

A Display of You

How precious… those little legs…
running through the aisles…
and jumping with such energy.
How precious… that smile that compliments
those loving eyes.
How precious… that little laugh…
in such a big chuckle.
How precious… to see him filled with joy…
and a life abundant.
The little soul so filled with You,
making good memories in Your house.
He takes You in… with every minute…
and builds a comfort within You.
You tell us to come to You as a little child.
If it were this little soul,
we would run to You…
with such joy, excitement, enthusiasm.
What beauty and strength
in such innocence and naivety.
Thank you, Lord, for such a moment…
a moment of display…
a display of You.

Whispers Loud and Clear

Seeking for You, to hear from You,
life fights to clog my mind.
If it weren’t for Your rescue,
I would journey blind.
Stress seems to contradict
all that lies in Your word.
The world screams so loud.
You can barely be heard.
But the Holy Spirit
whispers so loud and clear.
His loving ways
allow me to hear.
Comfort, peace, protection
in a God who is my friend.
Just hang on, Gail,
this too shall end.

Comforters, Console!

Comforters?
We, too, are to be comforters?
With the very comfort of God
that we have received
from God Himself?
We could never be God,
nor match His divine comfort.
The Holy Spirit is a Comforter
like no one else!
But it is that same Holy Spirit
who will work through us
when we obey God
to comfort others
with the comfort He gave us,
not our own,
but His.
Comfort His people!
Console them!
They need it,
as much as you and me!
Yea, Lord, Amen.
