Your Shining Hope

Yellow, orange, red.
All of different shades.
Green in many colors.
This is the beauty You’ve made.
The warmth, the brightness,
The presence of the sun
Makes me think of the day
Our Light will be Your Son.
The hum of the air.
The sound of the quiet.
Feeling like everything’s
Going to be alright.
These are the blessings
In moments You provide.
Even in chaos,
A beautiful way to hide.
Thank You for shining
A little of Your love my way.
A little bit of hope
Goes a very long way.

Thankful for Your Testimony

Pouring through my life,
Your testimony saturates.
Everywhere You shine my light,
It’s Your testimony that radiates.
The joy, the trials,
The long enduring sorrows
Are all preparations
For Your testimony tomorrow.
Walking through Your Holy Word,
I hide You in my heart.
Your testimony renews my mind,
And strengthens every part.
Thank You for Your thoughtfulness
In the testimony You left.
It allows me to share with others,
And helps me to improve myself.

Beautiful and Festive Display

Sparkles of light in the misty air.
Ribbons of color dance with flair.
Glitter glistens and shimmers in the light.
Snowflakes fall in the cool of the night.
The wonder of winter at Christmas time
Delightfully brightens the playful chime.
What a beautiful and festive display
Of the Holy and majestic day.
The precious Child born a King,
With Godly love and salvation to bring.
A path of pain and tears he’ll bear
To give the greatest gift to share.
Eternal Life is ours to receive.
All we have to do is just believe.
Join the angelic host in singing.
Hear the Hallelujah bells ringing.

The Warmth of Love

A little girl staring at a candle
Watches the flame dance.
Such a beautiful and playful light
Has her in a trance.
The heat drifts over her
And makes her forget
How cold it really is,
As she enters into her death.
Suddenly the light comes alive
And embraces her little soul.
Her Savior has welcomed her home
With a loving hold.
No more will she shiver or shake.
She knows the warmth of love.
She is with her good and perfect gift,
A home with her Father above.

Regardless of What I Can or Cannot Give

Searching as we walk,
I enjoy our time to talk.
Asking all the questions in my mind
That never seem to come at this time.
At a loss for words or insight,
You bring to my darkness Your Light.
I notice You have my hand in Yours.
Your love pours and pours.
Resigned to my silence, I cling.
I am so grateful for all You bring.
Regardless of what I can or cannot give,
You trust me with this life I live.

You Enlighten Me

So many stories… so many names…
Some difficult to pronounce right.
Your word is truly a lamp.
Already my darkness has light.
Instruction and encouragement,
Warnings to keep us in line.
You love us too much
To leave us behind.
Grace and mercy,
Your greetings share so much.
I am blessed to be a part of
Such heavenly love.
Thank You for opening my eyes
And for opening my ears.
I want to see and hear
All that keeps You near.
Praise You for who You are.
Praise You for Your Son.
Praise You for the Holy Spirit.
The three of You are One.

A Damsel Revived

Once upon a time, a damsel danced despite.
Smothered by darkness so long, she longed for light.
Discipline and expectations had left her scarred,
But someone greater was hidden in her heart.
Opening her eyes with careful attention,
He drew her closer to His dimension.
Strengthened by love of someone true,
She heard the whisper, “I love you.”
Held by a hand of genuine care,
He let her know He was always there.
Wounds that were permanent began to heal.
No longer numb, she began to feel.
Delightfully excited for the maiden’s new chance
At love and peace in a heavenly romance.
And as she finds joy in her life anew,
She shares His message, “God loves you!”

God, the Miracle

Times of crisis shall arise,
And God will meet us there.
Misery of heartaches cease,
For God shall take the bare.

Depth of darkened nights will be,
Yet God will be the light
To guide us in the right direction,
One to escape those nights.

Life will ask of new retirements
And try to steal the youth,
But God is there with miracles
That shall bring us to the truth.

Raise your hands in prayer and praise
The God who saves our lives,
And gives us back a peaceful home
To place our restless child.

Happy Birthday, Jesus! YOU are a miracle! ❤

NIGHTLIGHTS

In the dark I close my eyes
and hope it’s all a dream.
I search for an explanation
for all that it may seem.
In a dash, I run to find
the switch to shine the light.
I flip it up to chase away
the horrors of the night.
Light fills the room within.
My world is safe again.
I can lay my head to rest
without fearing my end.
But I must make it clear to you,
Do not take my light.
You’ll open up a hidden door
that leads into the night.

PS. I use to be so horrifyingly afraid of the dark. I could be sound asleep, even for hours, but if someone went to turn the light off I would wake up and point my hand directly at them and say, “Don’t turn that light off!” I praise the Lord for taking that from me.

Entrusted by God

Entrusted by God
with life’s many things,
all to glorify Him
with all it brings.
We have a challenge
to obey in all.
Sometimes we rise to it.
Sometimes we fall.
Can God entrust
to us anew?
Will He ever declare
I give up on you?
His word says He’ll lead
and guide us aright.
I pray the Holy Spirit
would be my guiding light.
Thank you, Lord,
for taking the chance
to trust me despite
I am so human.
