Staying “In Tune” With Jesus

“So shall we be saved from our enemies”
when we remember to obey our God.
He wants to protect us from all,
but to tolerate disobedience He does not.
“Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies”
but it is the courage from God
that helps us not to flee.
“If God can be for us, who can be against us?”
The answer could actually be the worst
if we do not make sure to pray
and ask God’s wisdom first.
“Oh how the world to evil allures me.
Oh how my heart is tempted to sin.”
We must tell Jesus if we want Him to
“help us o’er the world the victory to win.”

Your Influence

Your precious love abides. Your Spirit lives inside.
Your presence pleases me. Your comfort eases me.
Your guiding light leads. My obedience heeds.
Your word instructs. My discipline trusts.
Your hymn lifts my voice. I praise by choice.
Your encouragement cheers. Your tenderness endears.
Your mercy secures. Your grace assures.
Your salvation saves. My humility behaves.
Your insight inspires. My rebellion retires.

It Is His Gift

To lay one’s head down
and in sweet peace sleep,
not worrying about tomorrow,
for one knows God will keep.
To awaken refreshed in peace again,
as the head begins to lift.
A moment like this only God provides.
It is His gift.

To face a scary moment in faith
and trust the ailing body to strangers.
When life and health are threatened,
and the soul even seems in danger.
To awaken refreshed in health again,
as the healing begins to lift.
The Great Physician restores.
It is His gift.

To hear the sound of little voices
praising God with His own hymns.
To be able to experience the joy
that surely God finds in them.
To take in such beauty
as the voices together lift.
Only God can perfect such praise.
It is His gift.
