Team Confidence

Confidence… confidence…
Do you despise me?
Or are you the victim
When Satan tries me?
I hear your cry.
I hear your scream.
Yet I seem to join
The other team.
You give me wings
And bid me, “Fly,”
Encourage me,
“Let doubt
Pass you by.”
But then a whisper shouts,
“What are you doing?
You don’t know what’s ahead.
You can’t keep going.”
So to the earth
I descend in fear,
Waiting for
The next step to hear.
As I wonder,
Here or there?
I find myself
Teamed with despair.
A teammate stricken
With so much doubt,
Every direction
Leaves me lingering about.
From time to time
The Spirit whispers, “Listen.
Don’t you realize
Something’s missing?
I gave a guide
And instructed you
To stay nearby
And I’d come through.
But you turned away
And followed doubt.
You have carelessly
Left me out.”
Satan throws
His two cents in,
Tempting me
To just give in.
“Follow your heart.
You’re right in your own eyes.”
But as I stumble and fall,
I feel the pain of his disguise.
So once again on my knees,
The Spirit hears me cry.
He tells me, “Confidence awaits
To restore your wings to fly.”
Ascending heights of faith,
I return to where I belong,
Trusting God’s confidence
That I can be strong.

God, the Miracle

Times of crisis shall arise,
And God will meet us there.
Misery of heartaches cease,
For God shall take the bare.

Depth of darkened nights will be,
Yet God will be the light
To guide us in the right direction,
One to escape those nights.

Life will ask of new retirements
And try to steal the youth,
But God is there with miracles
That shall bring us to the truth.

Raise your hands in prayer and praise
The God who saves our lives,
And gives us back a peaceful home
To place our restless child.

He Never Neglects

Follow God… follow His best.
He wants to give you sweet rest.
He yearns to give you good
And enjoy you as He should.
He’s a loving God, a loving Father
Who gives guidance as an Author.
He shields and He protects.
He never neglects!
Give Him a try. Give Him your heart.
He will never depart.

God Is My Leader

God is my leader.
He is my guide.
When I am in fear,
In Him I choose to hide.
I trust His hand,
No matter what,
To take care of
What He has bought.
My price was too high.
It cost Him too much.
Therefore I know I belong
To the King of Love.

A Lot To Think About

A lot to think about…
in making so many decisions.
The best way to avoid scars?
Allow no incisions!
Yet the challenge to conquer fear
and stay in the fight
is much more the challenge
each and every night.
What is best…
and what can I actually do.
Sacrifice is worthless
if it only insults You.
Lord, be my Guide, my Comfort,
my unmoving Faith.
Help me to have peace
in my God given fate.
My weakness perfects
Your strength.
Help me to know
which path to walk in.

Your guiding light leads. My obedience heeds.
Your word instructs. My discipline trusts.
Your hymn lifts my voice. I praise by choice.
Your encouragement cheers. Your tenderness endears.
Your mercy secures. Your grace assures.
Your salvation saves. My humility behaves.
Your insight inspires. My rebellion retires.

My Consolation

Congratulations! You have lost!
Now you must pay the cost!
But here’s a consolation as you go,
to comfort your humiliation on the show.
This how the world sees consolation,
but I see mine in God’s salvation.
Jesus Christ was sent to me.
Thanks to Him, I’ve been set free.
I was lost in sin and shame.
Jesus stopped that blame game!
He gave me value and Holy worth
when He came in lowly birth.
His sacrifice on the cross
restored me from the loss.
His gift of love and sacrifice
paid my penalty and paid my price.
He sent the Comforter to guide.
He teaches me while at my side.
Soon to Jesus I will be led.
My Consolation… life after death!

Entrusted by God

Entrusted by God
with life’s many things,
all to glorify Him
with all it brings.
We have a challenge
to obey in all.
Sometimes we rise to it.
Sometimes we fall.
Can God entrust
to us anew?
Will He ever declare
I give up on you?
His word says He’ll lead
and guide us aright.
I pray the Holy Spirit
would be my guiding light.
Thank you, Lord,
for taking the chance
to trust me despite
I am so human.
