The Gift of Forgetting

The gift of forgetting.
Only You could provide such mercy.
Such grace.
Such love.
Only You could understand
The kindness of that gift.
Only You could understand the contents
And the package
Holding on
Until that sweet release of
“NO MORE.”
Thank You for the many gifts
You save me from,
Release me from,
Protect me from,
Including myself,
Especially myself.
Thank You for renewing my mind…
Daily.
Thank You for hiding You
In my heart.
No matter what comes or goes,
I have given myself to You forever!
I’m Yours!

Worthy of Unconditional Trust

You lift my weary hands
That they might praise Your name.
My self condemning tongue
Is Yours to tame.
The love, the care, the unending mercy
All glorify who You are.
Your long suffering grace
Is never too far.
The sacrifice of giving Your Son.
The plan to set us free.
The giving of His life on the cross
To allow ours to be.
The reconciliation wrought for us.
The restoration plan.
The salvation of a world
On the shoulders of one Man.
Worthy of praise
And unconditional trust.
I love You, Father!
I love You, Jesus!

Faithfully Reassuring Love

This love that You have poured throughout my life,
Has been the wonder of every breath I take.
You desire so much good for me,
And lovingly watch every step I make.
You bring beauty to my life,
And to those You know I love.
You create signature creations
That clearly testify of You above.
You provide mercy to save me,
And grace to amaze me,
Arms to hold me,
And Your heart to embrace me.
So many wonders and miracles
To woo my heart to Yours,
To strengthen my faith
And to faithfully reassure.

Longing to Walk

Sweet Jesus, I long…
To love…
To serve…
To be.
I want so much…
To give You
All of
Me.
As children long to play,
So I
Long
To play.
I want to be obedient…
And still
Make You
happy
Each day.
Walk with me…
As I search
To walk
Your path.
I pray Your mercy
And grace…
Would deter
Your wrath.

Praying For Someone to Die

Praying for someone to die,
Is that even right?
Are there moments, Lord,
When it is more selfish
To pray for good health
Instead of sweet release?
How would we know
When You are calling to them?
How do we know if the crying soul
Is asking for mercy when we don’t understand?
And yet, who are we to play God?
Even if our hearts are wrenched
In sympathy for the hurting.
God help us to pray.
May the Holy Spirit teach us how.
May we listen and learn.
And may our hearts, minds, and prayers
Be more what YOU want.

God and I Will Win!

God, we’re gonna do it.
We’re gonna fight this sin.
And with You on my side,
I know we’re gonna win.
The enemy may attack
And I may retreat,
But with You as my Shield,
We will defeat.
Obstacles and doubts
May try to deceive us,
But the power of the blood
Will relieve us.
Fear and lack of faith
May try to discourage,
But Your grace and mercy
Will renew my courage.
Years may pass
As time may be the test,
But throughout eternity
In You I find rest.
We’re gonna do it, God.
We’re gonna win this fight.
Because You, Oh Lord,
Will make everything alright.

GRACE

It’s dinner time, set the table
And don’t forget my place.
Let’s all join hands and bow our heads,
We need to say our grace.
“Thank You, Father, for this food
Set before our eyes.
Know that we are thinking of
The child who sits and cries.
We ask that You may feed his need,
And help him grow in time
To a healthy and happy child
With sharing on his mind.
For all the hungry without a meal,
We ask that they be fed.
Praise You again for our dinner, Lord,
Our daily given bread.

I Walk Away

God, what a sinful way I’ve led.
All in the name of love.
Yet I know somewhere inside me,
Who I need is high above.
I see a glance of handsome men,
And catch a winking eye.
As I go to meet the man,
I’m telling you good-bye.
Why do I not see this thing?
Why must I be so blind?
If only I would follow my heart
And leave the dreams behind.
Oh, Holy Father, full of grace,
Please return my strength.
Replace, I pray, the love in me
To live for You again.

God Sends Love

God sends love and the world is beautiful.
God sends mercy and He saves the ugly.
God sends grace and the ugly is revived.
God sends peace and the heart takes comfort.
God sends comfort and the world is at peace.
How many more blessings from God I could count.
Everything He does is out of love.
Everything about Him is love.
He is love.
There’s no other love I’d rather have.
For His love allows me to love,
To be loved,
And to share love.
Thank You, Jesus, for loving me,
And everyone else.
You really know what love is.
Thank You for teaching me about love,
And allowing me to be a part of it.
The world is so beautiful.
God sends You to earth,
And the world is given salvation,
The world is given love,
I pray I’ll always show You love,
And share Yours with others.

Our God, Our Family

You, oh Lord, are our family…
all our family… family to all…
all are Your family!
May we ever praise Thee
in giving us such grace
in making us…
ALLOWING us to be Your family…
to be a part of Your family…
to consider us family
at all.
We love You

A Land of Rest

A land of rest…
is there such a place?
That would certainly be filled
with God’s mercy and grace!
To have no worries
and just enjoy the land
would have to be sheltered
by God’s own hand.
Could you imagine
living in such a land?
While I could easily long for it,
I don’t know if I can.
I would be so afraid
of everything that could go wrong.
I would surely waste
enjoying God all day long.
But thank God for heaven
and God being in control,
for I know I’ll have that land of rest
and enjoy it with my very soul!

A God of Love and Mercy

God is a God of love and mercy!
Not a God of torture and misery.
He loves His people and wants to protect them,
honor their trust,
and shower His grace abundantly
to magnify and glorify His name.
God is a God of refuge.
He loves to share His forgiveness
to be the strength for the weak.
He is able to make the most terrified mind
calm with His peace that passes all understanding.
He loves to give His sweet peace.
God is a Holy God… worthy of
our praise, our service, our love!
God can do anything He wants…
ANYTHING!
He’s even bigger than any fear or sin!
He knows we need Him! He wants us to need Him.
He knows we need His mercy and grace.
And we pray for it now, Jesus. We pray!

Defeated At Times

Defeated at times by the stress of life,
I wonder if I can really be saved.
Then I remember I already have been
and wonder why I have so easily caved.
Your power seems so nonexistent
to the never ending reality of this place,
yet it is the only thing that gets me through
and expresses your loving grace,
People seem so insensitive and demanding
and some are weak and greedy,
yet I too am a part of this rat race
and am surely so feeble and needy.
I lay upon this bed so late
praying for the rest I need in sleep,
praying also that I’ll see Your tender heart
in my dreams I gratefully keep.

He’s Still There

God is still there.
He’s still in my heart.
I thought we were separated,
but we were never apart.
He wouldn’t walk away
or say, “I give up.”
Instead, He embraced me
and gave me His love.
Why did I feel that He
had closed His eyes to me,
when all He ever wanted
was to help me to see
that I am His child
and always in His hands?
When I’m feeling so lost,
He always understands.
Why do I fall for it,
the trick of the evil lie
that God will throw us away
if we don’t even try?
For this is the time
that He promised to forgive.
He’s not going to take away
the love He wants to live.

Our Long Journey

What a long journey of mercy
You have walked me through.
What a long journey of grace
to have been blessed with You.
So many memories flood in,
I am overwhelmed with words.
You have seen me through
so many misery and hurts.
Yet nothing on my journeying
has compared to learning of You,
and Your wondrous love
shown in everything You do.
Those memories are Yours and mine.
Those treasures are all ours.
You have poured out Your blessings.
I’ve loved bathing in the showers.
