In the Arms of a Faithful Friend

A soul searches…
A place to erase the pain.
There’s so much pain inside this heart.
Her eyes fill with rain.
Love was sweet and deceitful.
It promised to be strong and true.
Laid down in arms of love.
So many whispers of I love you.
Darkness set in the sunny skies.
The light was stolen from her.
The man who promised always
Slapped her with NEVER!
Tenderness and torture.
A plot so carefully carried out.
She was so in love with trust,
She believed she had no reason to doubt.
Pillows upon a bed alone
Hears her cries and catches her tears.
There is a place she finds to hide.
There is a voice she hears.
Laid within the open arms
Of a Bible that God has sent,
She cries herself to sleep and peace
In the arms of a faithful friend.

I love to lay with the open pages of my bible.
He is my shoulder to cry on! ❤

Staying “In Tune” With Jesus

“So shall we be saved from our enemies”
when we remember to obey our God.
He wants to protect us from all,
but to tolerate disobedience He does not.
“Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies”
but it is the courage from God
that helps us not to flee.
“If God can be for us, who can be against us?”
The answer could actually be the worst
if we do not make sure to pray
and ask God’s wisdom first.
“Oh how the world to evil allures me.
Oh how my heart is tempted to sin.”
We must tell Jesus if we want Him to
“help us o’er the world the victory to win.”

I Must Tell Jesus

May We Listen

God’s word… God’s people…
God’s warnings.
Do we ever listen?
Are we at all discerning?
Do we realize that while there is privilege
and honor in being His own,
there are so many things
He just will NOT condone?
Like a loving parent, He wants what’s best.
He does not enjoy seeing us fail a test.
He wants to keep us close and loved.
We choose when we give up.
May God help us to never leave Him.
May we choose to trust and believe Him.

Pretty Books

Pretty books… all around me.
So many to read.
I want to read them all.
Interesting,
intriguing,
moving,
funny,
inspirational,
informative.
I want to know these lives,
these stories,
these events,
this knowledge.
More importantly,
I want to grow…
in you…
in the Word…
your Word.
Holy Spirit, help me to read my Sword.
Teach me the secrets.
Give me the peace,
the love and comfort
that can only come from knowing God’s Word.
Help me to indulge within the pages.
Help me to soak up the wisdom.
Help me to discipline my mind.
Watch over my tongue.
Help me to hide every word in my heart
that I might not sin against you!
Father, thank you for the comfort you give
in the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus name I pray and praise, Amen.

Reading Your Love Song

You have hidden heaven in my heart.
You make me homesick for You.
You are comforting my yearning soul
That wants to be in my true home.
You guide me with Your eye.
You whisper in my ear.
You speak to me in Your word.
Let those who will hear… hear.
How beautiful You speak to my spirit.
My heart and soul are delighted in You.
Touching the deepest of my darkness,
You lighten my shadowed way.
Continue Your love song for me,
O Lover of my soul.
I fall more and more for You,
Enjoying every breath of it.
Eagerly awaiting the next page,
I turn to read more of You.
There You go again,
Speaking of more love for me.
