Love Was On The Cross

Love is when you’re willing to give to someone else
simply because you would have it no other way.
It’s knowing you would be there for them
No matter what, no matter when, and no matter why.
It’s knowing sometimes you will never gain anything in return,
And instead of regretting, you find comfort
In knowing you never wanted it to begin with.

Love is saying you’re sorry,
even when you have nothing to be sorry about,
Or maybe taking the blame
When it could even cost you your life,
And even if they never care that you existed,
You will always have known you did the right thing
Because you loved them… and still do.

Love is being able to forgive when there is no reason to.
If anything, they may even be so unworthy of acknowledgment
As you pass them by.
But you would never harm them, hurt them, seek revenge,
Or dare bring them despair.
Tears and pain are well too known to you
To ever place them on someone you love.

Love is simply being willing to lay your life on the line…
Or on the Cross.

Tears for Freedom

Forever in tears for freedom.
That’s all I really want is freedom.
I just want to be able to think, sleep, write, and feel how I want.
I just want some peace and quiet.
I just want to be able to move out and have a nice safe place
For Anthoni and myself to call our own.
I do not want Anthoni smothered the way I was.
It only caused so much hatred and resentment.
If it weren’t for the wonderful teachers, counselors,
friends, and family, and God,
I would have never found the love and forgiveness
I have for my family and myself now.
And I love our family relationship.
Somehow we will survive.
We are God’s children and full of love for one another.
We are family.
In Sweet Jesus name I pray and ask… Amen.
I love you, God, my Father in heaven.
Your daughter.

God is my hero

Unknowingly Sinful

Help, I’m walking away from God.
I need to turn back to the love I’ve forgot.
Please don’t let me lose my soul.
He’s the only one who cares, and the one to make me whole.
Help, God is coming back.
And when He’s gathering His children, I won’t be in the pack.
Please don’t let God overlook me. Don’t let Him turn away.
I have so much to confess, so much has gone astray.
God is all I’ve ever wanted, yet I’ve walked away.
Please don’t let me burn in hell, or lose on judgment day.
God, I’m sure, is upset with me knowing all I’ve done.
And no one else can take the blame, I am the guilty one.
Shameful and disgraceful too, the sins that I commit.
I need to kneel upon my knees and make myself admit.
There is no use denying it. The wrong is of my own.
I should’ve never walked away, but I had to run alone.
And now I’m running back to Him, asking for forgiveness.
Am I really worthy of it, His mercy and tenderness?
Oh won’t you help me talk to Him, or at least direct the way?
I want to be of God again and live the Godly way.

Experience His Amazing Grace

God is caring and loving.
His love will never cease.
His miracles continue.
There will yet be peace.
Come into His heavenly world.
Let Him in your heart.
Let today be the first of
A long and wonderful start.
The warmth you’ll feel within,
Could never be replaced.
So turn to God and experience
His amazing grace.
Jesus will forgive you
Of any sin you confess.
For as He died upon the cross,
He laid your sin to rest.
Your Lord is waiting for you,
Expecting only love,
To take you to a heavenly world
Waiting up above.

Oh God, My God

Oh God, my God,
As I sit and feel such weariness,
I remember You are my strength.
My uncleanliness…
Is Your cleansing
My weakness…
Is Your saving,
My iniquity…
Is Your forgiveness,
And most of all…
When I think of it all together,
I’m reminded I’m only human.
Only You are the perfect one in every way.
You even restore me with…
Security and peacefulness!
Thank You, my Lord!
For just being You!

My Older Brother Is Love That Forgives

Oh my dearest Big Brother, how do I express my thanks?

You have countlessly been there for me, when I have countlessly let you down.

You have saved me from so much trouble that God has seen you could help me with.

You are always there for our family, and my son thinks of you as one of his many heroes.

How precious you are to my life.

So many times I fall short of giving you some kind of love in return,

And then I am comforted by the reassuring words of the very person I am speaking of.

Life throws so much at you and I, and to all of those around us.

I praise God that we have each other and that I will always know your love for me is genuine.

People who love each other tend to hurt one another,

But your loving heart has always reminded me… love forgives.

Thank you, Big Brother, for all that God allows you to be for me and my son.

It’s more than you could ever imagine.

A God of Love and Mercy

God is a God of love and mercy!
Not a God of torture and misery.
He loves His people and wants to protect them,
honor their trust,
and shower His grace abundantly
to magnify and glorify His name.
God is a God of refuge.
He loves to share His forgiveness
to be the strength for the weak.
He is able to make the most terrified mind
calm with His peace that passes all understanding.
He loves to give His sweet peace.
God is a Holy God… worthy of
our praise, our service, our love!
God can do anything He wants…
ANYTHING!
He’s even bigger than any fear or sin!
He knows we need Him! He wants us to need Him.
He knows we need His mercy and grace.
And we pray for it now, Jesus. We pray!

Burdened by Flesh

A head hung in shame,
A heart broken just to know
That she has pained her Savior
Or caused any woe.
So much He has done for her,
This she realizes.
She makes no pretense.
She has caused her crisis.
Weighing heavily on her soul
Is the disappointment of her Lord.
She was genuine in confessing her sins,
And intended to do no more.
Yet here is the truth,
that she cannot escape the flesh.
She, like everyone else,
Will sin until her death.
Only His word and His blood
Can forgive and restore.
He walks through life with her
Till she reaches His shore.

He’s Still There

God is still there.
He’s still in my heart.
I thought we were separated,
but we were never apart.
He wouldn’t walk away
or say, “I give up.”
Instead, He embraced me
and gave me His love.
Why did I feel that He
had closed His eyes to me,
when all He ever wanted
was to help me to see
that I am His child
and always in His hands?
When I’m feeling so lost,
He always understands.
Why do I fall for it,
the trick of the evil lie
that God will throw us away
if we don’t even try?
For this is the time
that He promised to forgive.
He’s not going to take away
the love He wants to live.

Forgiveness Is A Real Comfort

Sin is real. It’s so real, it’s scary.
It’s scary how it has so much control.
It’s scary how it has a grip on me.
It’s scary that I seem to have a grip on sin.
Whether it’s lying, stealing, or coveting
sin is something that God hates.
And for that reason alone, I know that hell is real.
Eternal condemnation is real.
The reality of it’s existence is scary.
It’s so scary to know it wants me.
It’s so scary to know it waits for me to fail.
How scary to know that Satan can make evil
such a pleasurably and comforting feeling.
It’s scary to know that he smiles in the dark
to know he has yet lured me again.
Forgiveness is so real. It’s a comforting thing.
It too waits for me and smiles,
but thank God because it’s a part of Christ’s love.
It’s so comforting to know it embraces me.
It’s so comforting to know it rescues me.
It’s so comforting to know it cleanses me.
And most of all, it comforts me to know
it strengthens me and makes it possible to resist sin.
Forgiveness makes me a new person.
And that is a real comfort.
