Heaven or Hell

Living in heaven or going to hell.
Which will be your choice?
Which direction will be your journey?
Will you come to hear God’s voice?
Maybe someday there’ll be a time
When the world can get together
And brilliantly select a world
Of love and peace forever.
Show the children how to grow.
Teach them of our God.
For though you may choose your hell,
These children may not.

The Gift of My Father Is In My Father

Fathers are role models.

Whether they want to be or not, they are.

As God in heaven gave life to our first father in Adam,

He also gave him the role of leader in the family.

From generation to generation He passed it on.

Some men have run from that responsibility.

Some have denied their right.

But thank God there are still some men who find joy in leading their children.

You have done a great job in leading me in the right direction.

Your character of manhood reminds me of our Father in heaven who has said,

“Lean not unto your own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-7 KJV)

As you have allowed me to lean on you throughout the years,

I have found your love and direction has usually been the best path to take.

I am blessed by God to have a Father

Who carries the likeness of his Father in heaven.

You are not perfect or without flaws,

But as you follow our Father in heaven,

I know I can lean on my Father on earth.

Thanks Dad!!

God Leads the Way

Journeys can be so long, so enduring,
taking turns and continuing on.
Spirits can become so weary.
Strength can seem to be gone.
Paths appear all along the way.
The signs are tangled in brush.
The briers, thorns, and thistles
are each so lush.
Yet somehow God allows the soul
to sense that discreet sign
that clearly defines God’s direction.
He is able to lead the blind.God
Strengthening that weary soul,
He embraces them so dear.
Peace floods the barren soul
with assurance God is here.
Walking along with Him
the journey continues on
with God leading the way
to His only begotten Son.

Corrective Concern

Such a small hand
to have to place correction,
but when he is lost
I am his direction.
Such beautiful eyes
to ever shed a tear,
but when he’s in danger
I must say, “No, Dear.”
What a beautiful smile
to ever see turn down,
but when he’s being hateful
he’ll end up with a frown.
What a shame to hear a laughter
scream into a cry,
but when he’s endangering others,
I can’t stand by.
I love my child so much.
I just want to keep him safe,
but it’s so hard to be authoritative
when you hear them cry and play.

PS… Of course I wrote this thinking of my little one when he was little ❤

Here?

Move?… in which way do I go?
I don’t even know how I got here.
It’s only by your leading that I came.
And even then you used love and fear.
How then do I know it’s as safe,
That your leading is just as clear?
You are the one who brought me,
Reluctantly, but obediently here.
As much as I want to move away
From things that scare me even here,
I know the worst thing I could do
Is run from someone I love so dear.
If it is your loving and generous heart
Leading me to move away from here,
I need your clear and obvious wisdom
And the provisions you share so dear.
Where are you waiting for me to come?
Where are you saying, “Come here.”?
Help me to see you and come…
Without any doubt, reservation, or fear.

This poem was written at a time that God was leading me to move me and my son. I didn’t know where to, but I knew where to leave. The fear of uncertainty and the desire to follow God wherever and whenever He leads inspired these words.
