Uncertain Waves

Alone…. You and me… by the sea.
The waves rock me and my already unsteady world.
I know You created this ocean,
And I know You created me.
Yet there is so much I just don’t know.
There are many things about my life
That You knew before I was born
That I would never know or understand.
You’re God… Creator of the Universe.
Giver of life.. including mine.
You owe me nothing.
Despite what the world feels entitled to,
And insists I charge You with.
How generous You are
To allow us to think, feel, and exist.
To have this conversation with You
Is a gift of Your kindness.
Here in this sandy bed
The salty water carries my salty tears
Back to the One who created us both.
Uncertain of life’s current weather,
This alone I surely know.
You are Caretaker of all You create.
None other could tend life as You do.
You are aware of all things,
As You are the One who created all things.
The world fits in Your hand,
And I am nestled right inside.
Where will this turbulent sea settle?
I don’t know that it ever will.
Sometimes You break us down
To rebuild us up in faith
That we already thought we had.
But I know the One
Who has walked upon these waves,
Walks with me upon the shore,
And in moments like these
Tarries to abide.

Inspiration:

Heavenly Friendship

Friendship of a Savior
Who hath the Greater Love
To faithfully give that Good
And Perfect Thing from above.

Friendship of a Creator
Who made me for His Pleasure,
Who tells me my Image
Makes His treasure.

Friendship of a God
Who knew the Law
Would require a Blood Sacrifice
For us all.

Friendship of a Father
Who longed to Reconcile
His Prodigal Daughter
To being His Child.

Friendship of a Spirit
To Comfort, Guide, and Teach.
Who loves to Whisper, Nudge,
And Unconditionally reach.

Friendship of a Family
Preparing a Place for me.
Alas one day I’ll Fellowship
Where I was Always meant to be.

Your Illustrated Day

So pleasantly and lovely you are to see,
Even among the creatures of the sea.
Your soft colors and variety of shades
Make it exciting to see all You’ve made.
What creation at the Creator’s hand
In the oceans, in the rivers, throughout the land.
How delightful to see You here and there.
In every little critter living everywhere.
The sun is setting on Your illustrated day.
Thank You for letting me walk a little of the way.

Dear Rising Moon

I see you, Dear Moon,
Rising higher just above the trees.
You’re in an ocean of blue sky,
No clouds… just a cool breeze.
You move closer to the maker
From which we both began.
You are hung in His heavens
By His omnipotent hand.
You see from a view
That He too can see.
Can you see life?
Can you see me?
As you continue your journey
To slowly ascend,
Life is calling me to return,
Bringing our visit to an end.
Give my love to our Creator,
And let Him know I’m glad
That He sent you to say hello,
And for the time we’ve had.

Love Lies In The Hands of a Man

Love lies in the hands of a Man.
This is something I have come to understand.
He touches my heart and comforts my soul.
He’s the part of my life that makes me whole.

Love began in the hands of a Man
Who holds me with His nail scarred hands.
He knows I was in danger and that I would die.
His answer for saving me, “Love is why.”

Love lies in the hands of a man
Who taught me to walk, holding my hand.
He has given me family, security, and years.
He has placed in me compassion for others’ tears.

Love lies in the hands of a man
Who has a desire in his heart for God’s plan.
He was placed in my womb for a short while,
And has left in my heart an endless smile.

Love lies in the hands of a man
Who is something I have yet to understand,
For he is more than I thought God had in store.
I have never felt so loved and adored.

Love lies in the hands of a man
Who will give to me his wedding band.
He will stand with me before our Lord
And vow to love me forevermore.

Love lies in the hands of a Man
Who has given me all this love again and again.
For each and every man who has given me his love,
Has been a gift of love from a Man above.

Patterns of You

Patterns of You go lovingly by.
Your canvas lies within the sky.
A majestic mixture of parts of You.
A darkened shadow, a beautiful blue.
Layers of light through layers of clouds.
I find a calming peace amidst the crowds.
As far as my eye can see,
You have designed this moment just for me.
I drift with the artwork You’ve sent my way.
I pause and listen for what You have to say.
Caressing my soul You comfort me with thought.
No need to search when I have been sought.
Never do You leave me when shadows come.
You are my shelter when life feels numb.
In Your arms I am safe to feel free
Of any fear that would threaten me.
Drifting in patterns of glorious You,
I feel safe to say I love You… and I do.

Made for You

Made in Your image.
Given life by Your breath.
Created to serve You.
Redeemed in Your death.
My Creator, My God.
My Comfort for all times.
My Peace passing all understanding,
purifying my mind.
My Offering, My Sacrifice.
My Reconciliation to God.
My Great Physician.
By Your blood, I’m bought.
My heavenly Contractor
of my heavenly home.
My Soul Mate for eternity.
I kneel at Your throne.

Crying For Him

Rejected by the people You love.
Rejected by Your own family.
Mocked and laughed at
in Your times of trouble.
Heartless to Your broken heart.
How cruel to see them laugh
as You simply cry for them.
This is what we do to God,
our Creator, Redeemer, Father.
Yet we are quick to judge Him
cruel if He does the same to us,
after we have chosen to reject Him.
How ironic that we say we don’t
need Him for anything,
yet the thing we need most
is His compassion in our distress.
Crying against Him or
crying for Him?
I cry, Abba Father. I love you!
