A Place To Come To

A place to come to…
Wow have I been searching forever
For this very place You have long been leading me to.
A place where one can come to be with You,
Enter Your house,
Kneel at Your altar,
Walk with You upon Your Holy grounds.
A place to bring family and friends,
A place to see and meet family and friends,
A place of comfort, support, and accountability.
A place with plenty to do,
And open arms from welcoming members of Christ.
A place to hear worship and praise,
A place to request a prayer,
A place to speak a prayer,
A place to hold hands and sing together in fellowship,
A place to grow in our spiritual gifts,
And best of all a place to leave
With no regret, no guilt, and no pressure.
Instead to take with me
Encouragement, smiles, love, and friendship,
And more importantly
Your Word, Your message, and Your witness.
Thank You, God, for this place to come to.
I know that You are here.
And because of that, I’ll be back to see You again.

Church

Church is a place I long to know
and come to see God’s house.
I want to hear His children sing
and watch them become aroused.
I love to see so many souls
gathered to bring Him praise,
to hear the preacher preach the word,
as his voice will sometimes raise,
and all the restless children play,
as they find it hard to sit still,
but oh the sweetest things they say
as they are taught about God’s will.
The choir works so faithfully
to beautify their sound,
to shout a joyful melody
of how they’re heaven bound.
Church is where I long to be
and where I want to belong,
for it makes my world much easier
to hear the faith so strong.

Commands of Praise

That music…
those drums…
those horns…
those stringed instruments…
those perky voices…
it’s all so loud!
And dancing…
in God’s sanctuary!
It’s such a loud
NOISE!
Yet every one
of those things
are commanded of the Lord
in His psalms.
Even the new songs!
So it’s all that God
COMMANDS.
Lift your holy hands.
Sing! Dance! Shout!
PRAISE YOUR LORD!

Satisfied to Know

Knocking, rapping, listening for Your voice.
I have come to kneel and make my choice.
Joyful, eager, ready to serve You, God.
I’ll trust You with everything, ready or not.
Mindful, aware, prepared to follow commands.
I close my eyes and lay my life in Your hands.
Contented, glad, satisfied just to know
You’ll always love me and never let me go.

The Evangelistic Well

Preachers study so hard
to bring us God’s word.
Had he not been faithful,
we would’ve never heard.
Ministers serve so many
ministering to their church.
The faithful serving
helps heal the hurt.
Evangelists travel to tell
Jesus wants no one in hell.
Thank God for the evangelist
who shared from the well.

Help This Pastor and Wife

This flock of many burdened souls,
they trust them with their souls,
just as You have entrusted his leadership
to help them keep control.
This house of many mothers
look to her for heavenly advice,
just as You have given her leadership
to be the queen of nice.
This crowded building of Yours
is his for the moment You’ve shared.
Help him to be the man You want
as he has obediently chosen to care.
These eyes of those who search her
for answers to do the right.
God, help her to keep her sanity
as she strives not to lose sight.
This place is called a church.
These people Your congregation.
Help this pastor and wife.
Relay Your gift of salvation.
