I Have a Friend In My Little Brother

Little Brother, you are such a blessing to me.

God has allowed me the greatest gift from day one.

As I was only a few weeks old, He allowed our mother to conceive you.

You were born before I could even have my first birthday.

Some people could actually be disturbed enough to resent that,

But I have always thought it was cool.

God gave me somebody I could always pick on.

I am sorry I beat you up so much when we were little,

But you and I both know you can squeeze the life out of me now

With a simple hug.

What a gift to have a big redneck brother to protect me.

But the true gift God has given me in your being born so close in age

Is we have shared life practically side by side,

Through the good and the bad.

We’ve always shared the coolest friends and been able

To hang out like few brothers and sisters can.

Thanks for all the laughs you have given me

And the moments you have shared your shoulder.

God has made a great man out of the friend who is also my little brother.

Skies of Adventure

Airplanes transport people
to wherever they may go,
and balloons will go up high
whenever you let go.
Jets are fun to speed in
when you’re looking down,
and skydiving feels so wonderful
as you look around.
The only thing about
these pleasures in the sky,
eventually you have to land
until you once again fly.

Blue Ridge Parkway

If you’ve ever been to Asheville,
be sure to see one place.
The Blue Ridge Parkway, in our town,
is full of God’s caring grace.
His hands have carefully selected colors
to beautifully highlight the trees,
just within the mountain’s crest.
Its something you should see.
A lot of kids take a cruise
upon the Blue Ridge Parkway.
For seeing this landmark of art
is far better than I can say.
