Your Shining Hope

Yellow, orange, red.
All of different shades.
Green in many colors.
This is the beauty You’ve made.
The warmth, the brightness,
The presence of the sun
Makes me think of the day
Our Light will be Your Son.
The hum of the air.
The sound of the quiet.
Feeling like everything’s
Going to be alright.
These are the blessings
In moments You provide.
Even in chaos,
A beautiful way to hide.
Thank You for shining
A little of Your love my way.
A little bit of hope
Goes a very long way.

Oh Taste and See

Rain trickles down the window pane.
The glass reveals the storm.
The misty clouds drop their blessings
Where the dry ground began to form.
The flowers tilt underneath the weight
Of the life giving moisture,
Yet when the rays of life return
They will regain their posture.
Birds are hidden away for shelter,
Some tucked underneath their set of wings.
Their bird baths are being generously filled,
And soon they will again sing.
The children run and play in the puddles,
And tilt their heads back to taste and see
Oh how good and faithful
The Lord is to you and me.

How I’m So Grateful

How many seeds. How many flowers.
I’m grateful for all the hours.
How many days. How many weeks.
I’m grateful that You speak.
How many months. How many years.
I’m grateful for all the tears.
How many notes. How many doors.
I’m grateful for the ones who are Yours.
How many reasons. How many whys.
I’m so grateful to know I will fly.

As I Tithe

God’s blessings shower my day.
God’s love shelters my night.
I give thanks for all He gives to me
By choosing to praise as I tithe.
He sees my needs each moment.
He never leaves me without.
He reassures me He is there
By erasing my every doubt.
In love I say, “Thank You, Lord,
For my daily piece of bread.”
I give this tithing to the hand
That keeps my spirit fed.

God Sends Love

God sends love and the world is beautiful.
God sends mercy and He saves the ugly.
God sends grace and the ugly is revived.
God sends peace and the heart takes comfort.
God sends comfort and the world is at peace.
How many more blessings from God I could count.
Everything He does is out of love.
Everything about Him is love.
He is love.
There’s no other love I’d rather have.
For His love allows me to love,
To be loved,
And to share love.
Thank You, Jesus, for loving me,
And everyone else.
You really know what love is.
Thank You for teaching me about love,
And allowing me to be a part of it.
The world is so beautiful.
God sends You to earth,
And the world is given salvation,
The world is given love,
I pray I’ll always show You love,
And share Yours with others.

He’s Holding Onto You

Gail, you are so wrong to think that no one loves you.
You are so wrong to think you are alone.
You will never be abandoned by God
And the many blessings that God gives you.
You have a beautiful and wonderful, intelligent, and so caring
Young man for a son to love.
You have a father and a mother who will
Be there for you whenever they can.
You have 2 brothers and a sister
Who God made to be the greatest support of love and hugs.
Your friends are as numerous as the starlit sky.
And by the grace of God, you are lucky, so lucky,
To have such true, caring, dependable friends.
God is in their hearts.

You have such a wonderful and large church family
Who not only share a love for you,
But more… most importantly a love for our Lord and Savior
Who died on the cross for us all, Jesus Christ.
God is Father to them as well.
You have a wonderful Christian college to go to.
So many dedicated children of God are working there
to build and serve for Christ.
They carry a joy and an excitement in their hearts
And gladly allow it to shine before you.
How blessed you are by God to be inspired
By each smile that greets you in passing every day of your life.

You have an inspirational radio to hear in your car,
On your way to sleep, and wherever God leads them.
What a blessing you have to go to them for prayer.
And oh how Godly the voices on the other end exemplify.
Though imperfection lies in the heart of any human,
How great is the Lord when He allows a true Christian
To share his or her strength.

You have an incredibly exciting single’s ministry to attend.
So many Christian singles struggling in the same walk,
To hope for a Godly partner to share in life,
But wisdom and strength to keep God as a top priority.
And though the remember that mercy saves,
they understand disappointment in hurting God.
Isn’t it great to know that someone else cares about hurting God?
Yes… it is.

Praise the Lord that God and Jesus have each other,
As well as the Holy Spirit and the angels for company.
The Lord has blessed you with so many souls to comfort you
Through family and friends… and in the arms of strangers.
They all think so much of you.
They really care if you walk away from God.
Not because they want perfection,
But because they want to see you in heaven,
Because they hope to be there as well.
That’s more than Jesus had.
He had no one and no one cared,
Except for God… the comforter that holds us all together.

Please don’t give up, Gail.
God hasn’t given up on you.
And He never will.
He’s protecting you.
He kept you from an unhealthy relationship
That would have consumed your life.
He protected you even in the midst of hurting Him.
Even after He’s already given His Son to die for you.
That’s the most important and precious gift, blessing, and love
That God has given you.
Jesus Christ is a friend even in the end,
In death, in rejection, in abandonment.
Jesus will never leave.
Oh how you love Jesus, Gail.
You know you do.
And you know He knows you do.
You knows He holds you in His arms, safe and secure,
As a lamb in the arms of a shepherd.
He knows and understands love, rejection, betrayal, disappointment, cruelty,
And true heartache, beyond your imagining.
Let Him embrace you with His open arms.
He will hold you close and never let you go.
Hold onto Him, Gail.
Hold onto Him.
He’s holding onto you.
Praise God, He’s holding onto you.

Praying For Friends

Praying for friends…
such a much needed task!
Yet what a joy
and a privilege to ask
God to protect and provide
for dear friends,
knowing God’s blessings
never come to an end!
Praise to a Savior,
a King in charge.
Nothing is too little,
nothing too large.
God is beautiful
to provide such souls,
then comforts with prayers,
knowing He is in control.

Nourishing and Bringing Up Children

Nourishing and bringing up children,
Not such an easy task.
They don’t always want to do
Whatever you ask,
Even if it is what’s best for them,
Or if it brings them blessing.
What children will end up doing
Will keep you guessing.
Even so, they are worth every
Sorrow and care.
How rewarding to know
They still want you there.
Does God feel the same way
As we rebel against our Father God?
I praise His name that He does!
I’m thankful for the love He’s got!

Our Long Journey

What a long journey of mercy
You have walked me through.
What a long journey of grace
to have been blessed with You.
So many memories flood in,
I am overwhelmed with words.
You have seen me through
so many misery and hurts.
Yet nothing on my journeying
has compared to learning of You,
and Your wondrous love
shown in everything You do.
Those memories are Yours and mine.
Those treasures are all ours.
You have poured out Your blessings.
I’ve loved bathing in the showers.

Follow Every Eternal Day

Follow me to a place and to a man.
He waits with love and an opened hand.
Regardless of how you think or feel,
His unconditional love for you is real.
Follow me in learning of Him.
All His ways… blessings, every one of them.
Loving, kind, protective, and forgiving,
He longs to give you a life worth living.
All knowing and always present,
He is a God who will never be absent.
Open your eyes, ears, heart, and mind.
He has made you to be one of a kind.
Follow His lead. Follow His way.
You will cherish every eternal day.
