The Evangelistic Well

Preachers study so hard
to bring us God’s word.
Had he not been faithful,
we would’ve never heard.
Ministers serve so many
ministering to their church.
The faithful serving
helps heal the hurt.
Evangelists travel to tell
Jesus wants no one in hell.
Thank God for the evangelist
who shared from the well.

Finding Treasure In You

Ministry and friends,
I never knew one day they’d be the same.
Friends in ministry,
I never knew I’d know so many by name.
My son and you,
I had a hope you would know each other.
You in my son,
I would have hope for no other.
Serving in joy,
I would not have thought went together.
Joy in serving,
I want that feeling to last forever.
Hope in faith,
I seek to hold onto you.
Faith in hope,
I know you hold onto me too.

Things I’ve Heard While Reading You

Chariots, horses, and oxen too,
things I’ve heard while reading You.
Flowers, gardens, and vineyards grow,
each with a parable to learn and know.
Giants, ghosts, and angels who fly
make me want to know how and why.
A virgin, a carpenter, and a coming king
makes one want to hear the angels sing.
The wine, the dove, and a brother out of the grave
makes one glad He came to save.
The sweat, the cross, and the betrayal of friends,
Lord willing, makes one want to repent.

Promised Hope

Set on a hope,
my heart is yearning
to be there with Him
that bright glad morning.
Loved ones and friends
wait with Him there for me.
What joy fills my soul
to know I’ll one day be
there in that hope
that will become sight.
He will brighten my world.
No more night!
Fixed on a promise
from the Promise Keeper,
I’ll be comforted,
no more a weeper.

Joy In The Bible

Joy in the bible.
Joy in reading Your pages.
Joy in traveling
With You through the ages.
Joy in learning
The many acts of faith.
Joy in witnessing
The many acts of grace.
Joy in Your mercy.
Joy in Your love.
Joy in getting to know
Your only Son from above.
Joy to know it’s real.
Joy to know it lasts.
Joy to know some day
It will ALL come to pass!

Taking Time to Get to Know You

Taking time to get to know You,
I long to know even more.
There’s so much to You.
I’ll be learning forevermore.
You lead me and teach me
Then reteach me all again.
Your wisdom and knowledge
Seem to have no end.
Your word reveals so much
Yet conceals so much more.
Each day that I read You
Makes me long for even more.
Keep whispering in my ear.
Keep showing me who You are.
I want You right beside me.
Don’t ever go too far.

God Never Let Go of His Hand

God is such a loving Father.
He loves His only begotten Son.
He, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
are individual, yet very much One.
Compassion, strength, prayer meditation
are just a few things of God
to help His Son be so loving
when the world certainly was not.
Holy, divine, heavenly love
sent in things from God Himself.
He did not leave His Son alone.
He did everything He could to help.
Even when He looked away
that moment we don’t understand,
God’s heart was overwhelmed for Jesus,
so He NEVER let go of His hand.

To Suffer (To Allow)

To suffer… to allow…
To endure somehow…
To allow God to work
And make us more…
To allow Him to increase
And us to decrease…
To allow His will to be
In allowing others to see
That allowing God to do
Saves me and you…
To allow the perfect One
To glorify His only Son…
To obey the One in control
That the 3 in 1
In us may be whole.
To suffer… to allow…
To endure… for now,
It won’t be long
Till all misery is gone.

When I wrote this I was struggling with why God allows us to suffer, allowed His Son to suffer, and at the same time wondered why we use the word suffer to mean something as trivial as suffering a hot day when Christ and the disciples suffered true sufferings. In praying to God, he taught me the biblical definition of suffer is To Allow.
For example, when Christ suffered, He allowed Himself to be arrested, beaten, put on the cross, mocked, pierced, and to die a cruel death. He did it for you and me. ❤
God suffered too. He allowed His Son to leave home, to hunger, to be betrayed, arrested, beaten, mocked, pierced, and to die a cruel death. He did it for you and me too. ❤

Still Mighty Today

So much is taught to God’s people,
by God Himself.
He’s willing and ready
to give His people help.
He uses strangers and shelters
and keeps them safe.
He dries up waters
to lead them to His place.
He sends an angel
to fight the battle for them.
He allows their shout alone
to completely restore them.
He is so amazing and unique
in His own mighty way.
And we need to teach our children
He’s still mighty today.

Lemuel’s Mom (Proverbs 31)

Lemuel’s mom was a very wise lady
When talking to her king who was her baby.
She shared wisdom even on strong drink
And letting the poor drink not to think.
Yet when she talked about his future queen,
Wow, her words were humble and keen.
A hard worker who cares for the poor,
Instead of scolding the servants about the floor.
Good and busy with her hands and skills,
Instead of throwing around those dollar bills.
Respected and known by a good husband and king,
Instead of nagging him for every expensive thing.
Caring for her family as a mother should,
Instead of expecting everyone else to do them good.
And then of all things she actually words,
“Favor and beauty take back seat to fearing the Lord!”
What an awesome truth revealed in your truth,
A woman of royalty keeping it all about YOU!!
