Listen for God’s Messages

God sends messengers to relay His message.
May be a prophecy or to quote His passage.
But in those words are what He is saying.
He doesn’t want editing or someone playing.
He especially hates when someone flat out lies,
saying it’s from God just to add to their disguise.
This misleads the people and angers God.
When they say, “He said” and He did not.
To cause people to rebel or go stray
will bring judgment eventually their way.
So it’s important to guard our hearts
and keep our relationships strong with God.
That way we will be able to hear
“Walk not with them” or “Do not fear”.
Stay in His word and remain just.
God is mighty and able to trust.

Reading Your Love Song

You have hidden heaven in my heart.
You make me homesick for You.
You are comforting my yearning soul
That wants to be in my true home.
You guide me with Your eye.
You whisper in my ear.
You speak to me in Your word.
Let those who will hear… hear.
How beautiful You speak to my spirit.
My heart and soul are delighted in You.
Touching the deepest of my darkness,
You lighten my shadowed way.
Continue Your love song for me,
O Lover of my soul.
I fall more and more for You,
Enjoying every breath of it.
Eagerly awaiting the next page,
I turn to read more of You.
There You go again,
Speaking of more love for me.

It Rained On The Just

He came to salvage and set free.
He was destroyed and nailed to a tree.
He came to love and lead to God.
He was hated, despised, and mocked.
He came to teach and plead for souls.
He was hunted down and betrayed by a mole.
He came to heal and restore from death.
He was beaten and stolen of breath.
He who knew no sin bore our shame,
but our ungratefulness became blame.
We were the crowd crying, “Crucify” Jesus!
It absolutely rained on the just!

Inspiration: Matthew 5:45 KJV
“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
For my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Your Penned Treasure

Oh how deep a treasure
Your word is to my soul.
In green pastures or still waters,
You wonderfully restore my soul.
A comfort and care
no words could describe,
except those that were penned
by Your Holy scribes.
Refreshing and redemptive,
a new start each day.
Your word is life to me.
I seek ALL You have to say.

One Horrible and Final Day

There is so much coming our way
one horrible and final day.
Anyone not under the blood of Christ
will be given to believe Satan’s lies.
Death and destruction, torture forever
will swallow those who think they’re clever.
God does not wish for any to perish.
What He created, He loves to cherish.
He wants all to love one another
and to rescue our dying sister or brother.
Encourage one another in these hard times.
Protect and guard our own wayward minds.
Beloved, don’t get distracted with woe.
For the blessed hope of eternity we know.
Keep our mind’s eye on the things above.
And rest in knowing God’s faithful love.

Clinging to God’s Word

Clinging so tight to God’s word,
I cling to His heart.
I hold onto His promises
that He will never depart.
His word does not fail us
like we fail Him.
When He makes promises,
He keeps them.
Endurance, mercy, patience
He knows so well.
In His presence
I long to dwell.
Jesus said He prepared
a place just for me.
I believe so strong.
I’m eager to see!

The Bugler Is A Minister

Who would’ve thought
the bugler is a minister,
called to serve God
amidst the sinister?
Heading out to war,
he is to make the call.
It draws God nigh
and makes the enemy fall.
Irving Berlin
and all his songs.
God bless America
keeps us strong.
Thanks for the song,
the alarm, and words.
Such an awesome way
to say You’ve heard.

Adopted By The Jewish King

Do we even know how blessed we are
to have been adopted by THE Jewish King?
We Gentiles were His enemy
before He lovingly changed everything.
Israel was His chosen people and land.
We weren’t even a concern.
Praise God along the way
He allowed us to live and learn
of who He is and what He represents
to every creature He made.
Now by His mercy and grace,
our penalty for sin has been paid.
We, too, are allowed to enjoy
His eternal promise of love.
For He has promised the Comforter,
and a mansion waiting for us above.
Thank you, Jesus, for including me
and allowing me salvation.
I’m so glad You chose to save
even those who were not of Your nation.

NO MORE CHOKING!

Stop this choking me!
I belong to CHRIST!
I serve NO ONE ELSE.
HE was crucified!
For me HE gave HIS blood
to break my chains free.
HE gave me freedom
to live in spiritual liberty!
NO MORE laws! NO MORE demons!
NO MORE distractions!
God loves me as HIS creation,
NOT by my actions.
In love and honor,
I strive to give HIM fruit,
as I strive to live for HIM
in spirit and truth.

Abundant Want

So often I have felt so burdened
to have so much need.
I struggle to discern,
is this a test to contend or plead?
I do not want to insult God,
nor profane His name to any.
I know there are commands to ask
and commands to know I have plenty.
Yet 2 Corinthians 8:14
says my want is to be a supply
from those He’s blessed abundantly,
to show that all comes from on high.
And likewise my abundance
is to supply someone else’s want,
so that all those who witness
know it all comes from One.
May I seek to be content
and fulfill Your perfect plan.
I want to be a blessing,
even when I don’t understand.

We Don’t Need Another King

Years ago, God led His people,
usually through His own man.
He led them through the sea
and then the wilderness to the promised land.
Whenever men would sin,
God’s man would plead with sacrifice
for God to forgive His people,
and that would suffice.
Then one day jealousy
caused us to covet other nations.
We wanted a king so much
that we sacrificed Godly relations.
Through Saul, David, and Solomon
we learned how weak a man can be.
Through the kings of other nations,
we learn of cruel tyranny.
America is blessed to be king free,
but still relies on a man.
When will we ever learn
it is God we need to take our hand?
Praise God for King Jesus
who came to fix everything,
and praise God for the reality
that we don’t need another king!

A King Free Country

Living in a “king free” country,
we are blessed to follow God.
He gave us forefathers
who believed in obeying His law.
He gave us freedoms
that all others wish for,
and said if we’d trust Him,
He’d always be our Lord.
But nowadays we seem to yearn
to be ruled like other lands.
Just like Israel insulted God,
we want a Saul to replace God’s hand.
How horribly wrong and wicked
to place our trust in man.
We are foolish to hope for the impossible
when God is the God who can!
Lord, help us to keep our eyes and hearts
focused solely on Your reign.
You are the only one we need.
Heaven is our only gain.

You Are Still Worthy

Tabernacles, sacrifices, offerings and more
are what use to please You,
but since the law was fulfilled
what are we to do?
Of course much is the same
in obeying You, God.
But You cry, “Don’t go back to Egypt!
Have you so quickly forgotten?”
You want a relationship
built on faith and love,
but You are still Holy
and reign from above.
Help us to know Your will
and allow us to be pleasing.
You are so worthy of honor
that should never be ceasing.

I Read

I read.
I read for comfort, for entertainment, for pleasure.
I read to learn, to grow, to discover,
and I read to absorb the art of God’s treasure.
The written word is such a drug for me.
There is so much to read.
This is not just a way to pass time.
This is a genuine need.
There are times reading needs a break.
To find the time to read is the true conflict.
I pray for the moment to come
and praise my Lord when I finally have it.
Now there are times I avoid reading
because I want to reject the world in every way,
but sooner or later I am drawn in by the word
and just have to know what the writer has to say.
I read.
I read because I have a need to read.
Writers, please continue to supply my joy.
God, thank you, for this artistic breed.
