Love in 3’s

Prayers, praises, psalms.
Good things to employ.
Mercy, mirth, Master.
Good things to enjoy.
Bibles, baptisms, blessings.
Gifts from a God of love.
Cheer, charity, children.
There is never enough.
Comfort, consolation, contentment.
Gifts of the Holy Ghost.
Father, Son, Holy Ghost.
I love them most.

Irrational Rhyme

Roses are flowers.
Grass is green.
Making sense…
what does that mean?
Birds can fly.
Trees can sway.
Might as well
take it easy today.
Family fights.
Family events.
Not too easy
to tell the difference.
Balloons can pop.
Tires can blow.
When the air escapes,
I’ll just let go.

What Have I Come To?

Unable to communicate,
unable to do,
seeking for my purpose,
what have I come to?
That which I know
does nothing I see.
That I do
offends and disagrees.
That which others want
is not your desire,
and if it is,
I’m obviously fired.
Hanging on
to hanging in,
I wonder if
I’ll glorify you again.

Our Parental Father

Many times in our world
we are discouraged in helping our kids,
especially if they’re grown up
or even have their own kids.
Yet God is our example
in how he’s always there for us.
His love is giving and patient,
as well as good and just.
There is a need to grow and learn,
and a pleasure in seeing fruit,
but God is a parent who knows
we are always seeking the truth.
He also knows that though we learn,
we still are able to fail,
and just like a sympathetic father,
he longs to make us feel well.
Don’t give up on your kids,
and give them all you can.
God never gives up on us,
and walks us hand in hand.
