Trying to Understand

Life in circles,
It’s all a scene.
To those who understand,
You know what I mean.
Confusion is set.
Pain is left linger.
No words for a poet.
No words for a singer.
These letters arranged,
Make not a bit of sense,
Why is that?
Because I’m too tense.

PS. If this poem makes you want to shout,
Then don’t even try to figure it out.
Because you’ll never know what it’s about.
PSS… the extra note at bottom was written then too.

Inspiration: Friends use to challenge me to write a poem about them using the letters that spell their name. This was for my dear friend Kelly who was also my neighbor.
Sadly, she moved away and we lost contact.

Trials to Grace

Just when life seems so great,
Something usually goes wrong.
Something so heartbreaking,
It makes it hard to be strong.
You feel like you’re over,
That you just won’t make it.
And the more you try,
The more your heart gets taken.
But the point you have to see
At a time like this,
Is that God will see you through.
Trusting is what it is.
Have faith in our Father.
He really does love you.
Even when you tell Him, He won’t leave.
That He won’t do.
He’ll always love you,
No matter what takes place.
These times are trials,
You can win through His grace.

Forever You

Time is so precious.
I’d love to spend it with you.
Time is so sweet,
And you my baby are too.

My life would be meaningless
If you were not here.
The clouds are descending,
You make everything so clear.

And just like time,
You make things only get better.
More, more, like time,
You’ll be here forever.

I Still Wonder

As I sit and think of all life’s treasures,
Thoughts encounter my mind of all the pleasures.
The deep serenity and beauty in true romance.
I fear of having not one more chance.
Flowers, candy, and a moonlit night.
To walk hand in hand so close and tight.
Soft whispers in the ear, strong arms to cling to.
The look in the eyes that say, “I cherish you.”
No words needed, you can feel the emotion.
There’s a deep enticement of sincere devotion.
As his warm breathing chills the spine,
Kissing the neck so delicately, you feel divine.
Gentle caresses challenge the hidden desire.
True love is there, one a heart may require.
To talk of the future, of an engagement ring,
Set a wedding date to make it a sure thing.
The children you both want, naturally a son first.
All of that’s not present in my life for now.
I’ll straighten it out, as soon as I figure how.
Prayers are my best suggestions, they will do.
For I know the love of God has always been true.
Friends sometimes ask, “Do you really believe it’s enough?”
I say, “Yes, I’ll always look to our God above.”
I’m standing with Jesus. His love will always be.
Yet I still wonder, who will ever want to marry me?

Oh God, My God

Oh God, my God,
As I sit and feel such weariness,
I remember You are my strength.
My uncleanliness…
Is Your cleansing
My weakness…
Is Your saving,
My iniquity…
Is Your forgiveness,
And most of all…
When I think of it all together,
I’m reminded I’m only human.
Only You are the perfect one in every way.
You even restore me with…
Security and peacefulness!
Thank You, my Lord!
For just being You!

Death

A word of many things.
Such sorrowness…
Yet such compassion…
Deep despair…
Yet a time of happiness…
Grieving…
Rejoicing…
Missing a love one…
Or of one so near to the heart.
Grateful for the end of the suffering
For those going home.
One thing for sure…
Confusion.
Yet, it too, can be a misunderstanding
Of the Lord’s purposes.
The only word to really describe death..
Is death itself.
Oh Lord, help us to understand.

We Are There

As I sit in a nice warm home,
I think of those without.
They have a heart and feelings,
But they also have a lot of doubts.
They think they’re alone and that
No one has or will ever care,
But little do they realize that
Jesus Christ has always been there.
Even though they may be down,
And have a lot of grief and pain,
Jesus will see them through everything,
Whatsoever be, over and over again.
As I remember how I am so blessed,
I remember this one thing too.
If Jesus Christ Our Lord loves them so,
Then I will also say, I love you.

Trying to Remain Serene

In valued time, I grew in maturity.
And now they are all so sure of me.
They think they know me so well,
But as one cliche says, time will tell.
My heart is strong, I’ve learned through the years.
So why do they want int it now, I alone shed the tears.
They say I have a lot of pain, I have good sense.
All the hurt made me healthy, it gave me experience.
To tell dishonesty from the depth of truth.
The love I’ve had and will need is in my youth.
God is the only love or need I entice.
I can only share a little more to be nice.
I must keep my sanity and remain serene.
And if they’ll leave me alone, my pain can’t be seen.

Living In Fear and Hope

Today, tomorrow, who knows when
This world will yet come to an end.
Living in fear of life itself is enough.
But to worry about fire, storms, and war is tough.
Does anybody care about life at the least?
Doesn’t anybody want to live in peace?
I know I do, cause I want to see the sun.
Of all the pain love brought, I want to find the fun.
The joy of waking in his arms each day.
And when I’m upset, a soft voice to say, “It’s ok.”
To see the day when we join together,
And tell the whole world we are forever.
To see the beautiful children we will create.
To see all that would be just great.
I want to see what I can make of my life,
Knowing I had to be extremely careful with each strife.
So if you’re listening to me, tell me what you feel.
And if you feel the same, tell me something real.

Such a Pretty Day

The pine trees have such a pretty green.
Pretty colorful leaves lie on the ground unseen.
Pretty oranges, light greens, dark greens, and brown.
And such a pretty green grass covers the ground.
Such a pretty shade of blue mixed clouds, catches an eye.
You feel so warm as they pass by.
Figures come to the eye, clouds before the storm.
They seem to ruffle, causing waves to form.
Higher in the sky is the bright shining sun.
Yet also the moon is seen, seems kind of fun.
Saturday is such a pretty day, it warms you so.
A peaceful and calm feeling comes, one I didn’t know.
Children laughing, parents amusing, so good to hear.
With such a feeling, it’s like heaven is just so near.
You almost feel like the world is so nice.
But today is special, with peace as the spice.
With the sun warming your skin and hair,
You let your mind wander, you’re in mid-air.
It’s such a pretty day.

Dear Jesus (1986)

Happy Birthday to You!
I don’t know exactly how old You are,
But I hope You have a good one.
I sincerely hope and pray that everyone is
Nice, friendly, sharing, giving, happy,
And thinking of You.
Of how it’s Your day, not theirs.
May everyone love and respect You today.
I hope more good than bad is done today.
You are in my most cherished thoughts.
You’re my best friend.
Merry Christmas!
Lots of Lovely Thoughts.
Thinking of You.
