Judas… The Name

Names… how they seem to follow us.
Not just the ones we’re given,
But even those of our enemies
Seem to be the same as our loved ones,
Yet those of whom we cherish
Can be the same of those we cringe over
At just the thought of their name.
Did Jesus know when He was little
And Judas was the name of His brother,
That one day He’d be betrayed
And delivered to death by another?
Judas that betrayed Him
Is very well known,
So we associate that name
With someone wicked to leave alone.
But what about Jesus’ brother,
The disciple who followed in love?
Is it fair that name alone
Should be so negatively thought of?
Maybe we should refrain from judging
A book by its cover,
And instead inspect the “fruit,”
And love one another.

Jesus Rescued Me

Jesus… rescued me.
Jesus… set me free.
This is said so much because it’s so true.
Jesus rescued me and He can rescue you.
If you only knew His sweet peace,
you would NEVER want it to cease!
If you could feel His powerful love,
you would long to be with Him above.
If you knew how trustworthy He is,
you’d take everything to Him, and trust Him with it!
There’s just no way to describe
what you have to personally know,
but I pray that when He comes knocking,
you will not tell Him, No.

INFLAMED PAIN

Pain inflamed,
scars on fire,
when will the agony
retire?
Inflammation,
irritation,
will I ever escape
this aggravation?
Have You the cure
to heal for sure
this infection
that wants to endure?
Help! I cry
asking why?
Will this be
how I die?

In Agreement Or Not

In agreement or not,
we can reach the lost,
but peace is better
to bring them together.
Bringing God’s word
to those who have not heard,
reaching the mind
of another kind.
We are all made of God.
We all have to trod
on this earth below
till it’s time to go.
Jesus is the one to decide
who He will let inside.

I Follow Despite!

Following Your lead, I follow despite
Any reservations, dread, or fright.
I watch for signs and trust Your word,
Trying to stay true, no matter what I’ve heard,
Trusting that You have heard my prayer,
Knowing that You always love and care.
Unsure if my death is what You ask,
I become afraid of every little task.
Knowing You hate lack of faith,
I try to put on a happy face.
My spirit is unsettled, my mind scattered,
And every bit of my nerves are shattered.
And then in darkness, I feel Your touch,
Reminding me that You love me so much.
The last thing You want is to torture me.
You suffered on a cross to set my pain free.
Help me to trust You even when I’m lost.
Thank You for dying upon my cross.
No one will ever compare to Your sacrifice.
Because of Your death, I have eternal life.

Home Can Only Be Home With Jesus!

Home is where the heart is…
That’s what they say anyway,
But so many people can’t be there
And are trapped so far away.
Stranded in bodies or buildings
So cold to their feelings.
Every day faced with
Such cruel dealings.
Lord, thank you for holding our hearts,
For living there too.
Home can only be home
When we’re finally with you!

Hold Your Weapons

Hailstones… stones that come down from heaven.
Weapons… a means to kill the enemy with.
Revenge… to retaliate justice to the wicked.
Victory… revenge and victory are always His.
We have a God who is very active with us,
Who is aware of everything we do.
He is ready to fight our battles,
Ready to defeat our enemies too.
Hold close to God so that you’ll always know
If you are choosing to be HIS enemy.
He wants only to love and protect you,
If you will just let it be.
Be careful not to mock your enemies
Or rejoice at their destruction,
For you were an enemy of God too
Before you chose to heed His instruction.

His Parental Love

Knowing our sinful nature and God’s just ways,
makes it scary to have to live for those unwanted days.
One can know how loving and merciful God is,
but one also knows that mighty vengeance of His.
The soul is so ready to love and revere God,
but the carnal flesh simply is not.
Knowing that sin brings justified discipline,
makes one afraid of the world and body we’re stuck in,
but God sends the Comforter to remind
that God loves us at all times.
And while He can not tolerate sin in us,
He loved us enough to send Jesus.
We must trust that God knows what He’s doing.
He’s not throwing us away, he is pursuing.
Like a child/parent relationship, we have a bond.
His parental love will always carry on.

He Will Restore

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away,
Blessed be the name of the Lord each day.
For the God who is our ever present help in need
Knows our hearts and cares if we bleed.
Trials can be so challenging and hard.
It’s tempting to make your heart a guard.
So much loss can steal your joy,
It’s hard to be happy over what’s destroyed.
But pray that God will help us keep our tongue
And see us faithfully through till all is done.
He will restore what He has taken from us,
Unless He sees it wasn’t best for us.
I cannot explain why things are as they are.
I just know God cares and is never far.

He Never Neglects

Follow God… follow His best.
He wants to give you sweet rest.
He yearns to give you good
And enjoy you as He should.
He’s a loving God, a loving Father
Who gives guidance as an Author.
He shields and He protects.
He never neglects!
Give Him a try. Give Him your heart.
He will never depart.

Harmless As Doves

Wilt thou be made whole?
That is so easy to answer.
Faith is the cure
But obedience the enhancer,
Obedience that includes
To love one another,
Not to be so violent
Or ugly to others.
We are not to let
Our egos be pleased.
We are to be of good cheer
And share our peace.

Good or Corrupt?

Good or corrupt,
which will we choose to be?
Do we want our selfish gains
more than to make God happy?
Jesus gave so much of Himself
when He gave up the comforts of heaven.
He even took time to teach and guide us
when on the mount He gave His sermon.
So much daily and practical living
in words of love and wisdom shared
given to us by a friend who knows
and a loving God who cared.
Read, listen, meditate
on God’s instructions for what to do.
It will help Guide in life
and help us to know how to get through.
Good or corrupt,
which will we choose to obey?
Do we really want to miss out on God
just to have our own way?

God’s World, God’s Way

Instructed by the word of God,
I attempt to please my Lord.
I set out to be His warrior,
defending and living by His word.
Trials arise. Obstacles appear.
Hazy Days make my task unclear.
Enemies strike. Allies betray.
God’s word seems to go astray.
Even then our sinful human eyes
must trust despite Satan’s disguise.
Just because we do not understand
doesn’t mean it’s out of God’s hand.
What seems to be all gone wrong
is somehow God being very strong.
His word does not return void,
no matter how much we’re annoyed.
This is God’s world and God’s way
to give to us a brighter day.
Trust in Him when all seems lost.
No one knows more than Him the cost.

God, Save My Son!

My son… God save my son!
Please!
He’s yours! Always has been!
Before he was in my womb
(by Your grace!).
Thank You for the day
he came to know You “personally”
to tell You that himself!
Praise Your Holy name!
Save him now from himself,
from me,
from anything that would threaten
to steal what is between You and he!
Keep him pure, faithful, strong, confident,
never ceasing to seek You!
Help him to seek you early,
routinely, passionately!
Give him Your wisdom, discernment,
compassion, and PEACE (like none other)!
Please, help him, Lord.
Please save him! For You!
You always have!
Don’t stop now!
We love You always!!

God Knows 7.3.11

God knows where I have been
when He has led me there.
He was the one preparing me
for things I could not bear.
Confused from the moment of arrival,
my confusion continued to grow.
To know when the white flag was heeded,
only God did know.
How precious His journey for me has been.
I’ve treasured every minute.
I never would have ventured
if He had not been in it.
So now of course I move
praying He still comes along,
trusting He still leads me,
even when I am wrong.
He knows my every step
long before I do.
If He knew I was going,
He knew He’d go too
because all my prayers
are to stay in His will.
I know He wants the same for me.
I know He loves me still.
