Praying For Friends

Praying for friends…
such a much needed task!
Yet what a joy
and a privilege to ask
God to protect and provide
for dear friends,
knowing God’s blessings
never come to an end!
Praise to a Savior,
a King in charge.
Nothing is too little,
nothing too large.
God is beautiful
to provide such souls,
then comforts with prayers,
knowing He is in control.

Outrageous Mercy

Wow… what outrage one can feel
believing a killer got away with a crime,
yet no one was outrageous over Barabbas
when they saw him commit the crime.
And placed beside him, an innocent Jesus.
No one was screaming for what was just.
Crucify Him! Crucify Him!
Is what they cried instead.
They let the guilty go free
to see the innocent dead.
Where is the outrage?
Where is the compassion?
Does anyone care?
Where is the passion?
In His death, that’s where.
Yet who seems to care?
God does, that’s who.
His justice is not through.
The only mercy is in Jesus Christ!
Turn to Him before you pay the price!

OUTER SPACE?

Outer Space? That big black hole? Those stars?
Or maybe the moon and planet Mars?
What exactly do you expect me to write about space?
My inexperience defeats my case.
I’m not an astronaut, nor NASA pro.
I only know what I barely know.
The poem from school had lost the end
When Pluto was rejected as a friend.
Then Mr. X was invited in,
But I do not know the latest spin.
Yet beyond all that’s in the galaxy,
There is a Savior waiting for me!
He has made those wondrous sites
That I shall see on my heavenly flight.
I’ll be so excited to share,
But you’ll have to wait till you’re there.
     HURRY UP!!

Our Loss, Their Gain

She misses him.
He misses her.
So many lives
have been disturbed.
Death is a fact
that none can escape.
It’s much more serious
than a nick or scrape.
Souls are relieved
of their living pain.
In our loss
is their gain.
Jesus awaits
to embrace,
and all the pain
is soon erased.
He extends His arms
to those in mourning.
“You will see them again,
some glad morning.”

Our God, Our Family

You, oh Lord, are our family…
all our family… family to all…
all are Your family!
May we ever praise Thee
in giving us such grace
in making us…
ALLOWING us to be Your family…
to be a part of Your family…
to consider us family
at all.
We love You

One On One With God

One on one with God,
asking questions so profound.
Maybe God enjoys being sought
and even more being found.
Could it not touch His heart
for us to really want to know
how God has been from the beginning
and all He wants to show?
Our God is such an intimate God,
a God jealous of our hearts.
He just wants sweet fellowship
and grieves when we depart.
Do you want to know God
and the life He has given us all?
Just take time to seek and speak.
He will love receiving your personal call.

Nourishing and Bringing Up Children

Nourishing and bringing up children,
Not such an easy task.
They don’t always want to do
Whatever you ask,
Even if it is what’s best for them,
Or if it brings them blessing.
What children will end up doing
Will keep you guessing.
Even so, they are worth every
Sorrow and care.
How rewarding to know
They still want you there.
Does God feel the same way
As we rebel against our Father God?
I praise His name that He does!
I’m thankful for the love He’s got!

My Jesus, My God, My Comforter

At the altar is where I found my Father, my Comforter and my Friend.
I was told of love and forgiveness that would never end.
This person that I had wronged still loved me
And instead of punishing, wanted to set me free.

-CHORUS:
This was my Jesus, my God, and my Comforter who came to claim
My soul for His own, by my very name.
He did not leave me there drowning in my sin.
He cared too much to ever be without me again.

Troubles continued to follow me every since that day
Trying to get me to turn the other way,
But Jesus has been there through every trying test
Showering me with His protection and sweet rest.

-CHORUS-

Because a saint cared and was willing to obey the call,
I found my dearest friend to help me through it all.
Someday I will get to thank that saint in action
For reaching out to save a child with compassion.

-CHORUS-

Mixture of You and Me

Showers, flowers, happy faces.
Exciting and adventurous places.
Cries, screams, laughter of joy.
Sounds that can annoy.
A mixture of life and misery
make it normal for you and me.
Sighs, gasps, a breath of surprise.
It’s worth seeing in your eyes.
Hang onto those memories so sweet.
Until we again meet.

Memories… Precious and Brief

Here in a world of sorrow and grief,
Memories are precious and brief.
Yet some can be so permanent
That not only can you not forget,
But even in current times at hand,
The new you cannot comprehend.
Yet there is another side to the brain,
Making life such a strain.
You can lose those precious times
When disease robs you of your mind.
You may not even recognize
Someone you’ve known all your life.
It may even be family or a friend,
Such precious people we call kin.
So sad how life can be so mean.
I am afraid of what I have seen.

May We Listen

God’s word… God’s people…
God’s warnings.
Do we ever listen?
Are we at all discerning?
Do we realize that while there is privilege
and honor in being His own,
there are so many things
He just will NOT condone?
Like a loving parent, He wants what’s best.
He does not enjoy seeing us fail a test.
He wants to keep us close and loved.
We choose when we give up.
May God help us to never leave Him.
May we choose to trust and believe Him.

Many Souls, Many Lives

So many souls, so many lives,
so many different paths.
Will we choose God’s promises
or provoke God’s wrath?
Many souls no longer have
a chance to choose.
They’ve either lost to health
or been evicted from youth.
Reliant on their souls
to share God’s grace,
they have to take what comes
no matter the place.
May God’s sovereign rule
be done in everyone.
Thank God for His grace
and merciful Son!

Lord of My Heart

Jesus is Lord of my heart.
I welcome Him in to stay.
He doesn’t have to wonder.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
He’s got the keys to every door.
He broke the locks and chains.
He cleaned out all the cobwebs.
Now only His love remains.
No clutter or junk.
Nor any untended scars.
He heals with His caring touch
And softens what was hard.
He’s no longer a visitor.
His home is where my heart is.
Every day He draws me nearer
To come and live in His.

Listen… Welcome!

Listen… hear it coming in the wind?
The power of the Holy Spirit!
Longing to dwell in us,
To empower us,
To teach us,
To encourage us.
Do you want the power?
Do you want Him to indwell?
Do you want to be taught?
Do you want to be encouraged?
I do!
Holy Spirit, fall fresh on me!
Please!
Every day! Every hour!
Every minute! Every second!
I want God’s blessings from You!
Love you, Father, Son, & Holy Spirit!

Judging Those Pharisees (Me)

It’s so easy to judge those evil Pharisees,
Yet there is so much of them inside me.
We both can push our selfish pride
And forget we are His betrothed bride.
Even if we see the truth right before our eyes,
It’s so easy to want something we tend to disguise.
Jesus gave His life to save them and me.
It’s just not fair, to not let Him be.
May the Lord help me to be faithful to His Son.
He is worthy after all He has done.
God Himself suffered in His sacrifice too,
Watching His Son agonize for me and you.
