What If God Was Right Here?

What if God was right here…
In the room with us…
Like the person across the room?
What if He was God watching us,
Testing us to see how we would treat Him?
Would we speak?
Would we care?
Would we acknowledge He’s here?
Would we notice?
I hope I would.
But I must confess,
I would probably keep to myself,
As I am doing right now.
Is that bad?

Be Thankful You Can

People talk about people so easily,
Judging so quickly what they will,
Judging others abilities, health,
And simply whining about others’ complaining.
They talk God out of their mouth,
“Be thankful you can,”
Yet they mock the God who carries them
Through their challenges each day.
If they are so eager to be worthy of honor,
Let them it earn with humility,
Praying for their neighbors,
Having faith in the child of God loves,
And being thankful they can do what they can.

My World Fights

My world… it fights….
Over religion, over speech,
Over the right to protect,
Over the right to be free.
My world… fights hard…
Over persuasion, over being fair,
Over who doesn’t belong here,
Over who shouldn’t go there.
My world… fights with malice…
Over the race that no one should survive,
Over who should be spared,
Over not taking even unborn life.
My world… fights gloriously…
Over ethics and rules to the game,
Over losing with dignity,
Over honoring a name.
My world… it fights…
And it fights to rule the world.
They claim it’s all for peace,
Yet all they do is quarrel.

A New Wonderful Song

A new song I sing unto my Lord.
Praise I give His name.
Lifting up my praise with hands
For all the wonders of my life.
The wonder of my existence.
The wonder of my Savior.
The wonder of His gift of salvation.
The wonder of His love for me.
The wonder of my family.
The wonder of my friends.
The wonder of my enemies
Who have become a blessed friend.
The wonder of my Daily Bread,
And the wonder of meeting my needs,
Always right when I need them most.
The wonder of my God,
Being full of only who He can be
Makes my soul rejoiceful.
Therefore I praise my Savior
Who is called Wonderful.

Jesus, Faithful to the Unfaithful

Time and time again You come to my rescue
Despite how often I neglect and abuse You.
You adhere to my every cry,
Though I betray You… why?
You hold my hand, comfort my aches and pains,
Regardless of my sins causing Your blood to drain.
You befriend me, Father me, abide me at my need.
You do not hold it against me… my selfish greed.
Lord, I love You for always being so faithful to stay.
Thank You for loving me despite my unfaithful way.

My Loving Caregiver

Hours and days ago,
My life was in Your hands.
It is in Your hands every day.
You are my healer.
You are my comfort.
You are my peace…
Inside and out…
Within and without.
I draw my every breath from You.
You are a caregiver like no one else.
I bow before Your amazing care.
Thank You for loving me so much.
Thank You, Jesus.

Drowning In Bills

I am drowning in bills,
suffocating in stress.
I work so hard to make it,
yet seem to pay off less.
I struggle to pray.
I struggle to believe.
I struggle to obey
and trust you will not leave.
Please enrich my spirit
with peace that you are in control.
Be my strength, as I have none.
You alone make me whole.

Committed To You

Committed to you, I am determined to cling to you.
Committed to you, I am determined to follow through.
Committed to you, I am determined to stay strong.
Committed to you, I am determined not to do you wrong.
Committed to you, I am determined to trust your bond.
Committed to you, I am determined to hang on.
Sometimes temptations are persistent,
but sometimes deceptive.
Just when I think I’ll no longer be tempted,
whoa I catch my breath and hang on.
I pray as I hold my breath,
Jesus, be my strength,
be my spirit,
be my everything.
Be… and be in me!

Satisfied to Know

Knocking, rapping, listening for Your voice.
I have come to kneel and make my choice.
Joyful, eager, ready to serve You, God.
I’ll trust You with everything, ready or not.
Mindful, aware, prepared to follow commands.
I close my eyes and lay my life in Your hands.
Contented, glad, satisfied just to know
You’ll always love me and never let me go.
