My Proven Deliverer

Tested and proven
To be Faithful and True,
My obedient Deliverer
Was sent from You.
He follows Your word,
And trusts Your lead.
He knows You’ll provide
Every need.
He is Mighty and Strong,
Yet Gentle and Tender.
He’s the Alpha and Omega,
And the Wonderful Splendor.
He has delivered me from sin,
And defeated my foes.
He has carried my burdens,
And travelled my woes.
I will stay in His camp
Where I know He is.
I know He will safely deliver me
To His home of bliss.

Reconciled Remnant

A remnant, a people preserved.
They survive the famine and wars.
Captivity and bondage came,
But You will keep a promise of Yours.
Grace poured out, You endure.
You are patient and kind to wait.
You think we’re worth dying for,
And opening the gate.
Restoration and relationship
Are what You desire for us.
Thank You for reconciling us
Under the blood of Jesus.
Sheltered and cared for,
We rest in Your word.
We send prayers and love.
We know they are heard.

One Choice to Make

The choice of one
To simply obey,
To show I believe
In what You say.
The blessings that flow
From one to another.
Favor inherited
From brother to brother.
The choice of one
To simply disobey,
To blatantly disregard
What You have to say.
Consequences that flow
From one to another.
Curses inherited
From brother to brother.
Choices we make
Can affect each other.
Blessings or consequences,
We pass to another.

Lingering Life

Petals from the flower
Fall to the ground.
Seeds of life
Lay all around.
The grass so tall
Sways in the wind
Praising the Savior
Again and again.
Clouds and sunshine
Play in the blue sky.
Will it rain on life,
Or lovingly pass by?
Wings flutter and flick
Before they come to rest.
Butterflies, birds, and bees
Comfy in their nest.
The cool breeze lingers.
The flowers dance.
Isn’t this where we began
When God gave us a chance?

Missing You In Ink

Lord, Lord, Lord,
How I miss You in ink.
Those sweet Holy whispers.
That playful encouraging wink.
Your Spirit flowing through
My pen swiftly obeying,
Sharing with other souls
What You are saying.
Where is that path
That once was clear?
I know I’m on the right one.
I feel You here.
I know You are my Light
Guiding my path.
I know You provide my needs
In all that I hath.
It’s just this trail
Seems to go so long.
I sometimes wonder
Can I go on?
Yet I know You’re here,
And You’re leading the way..
Help me to hang on
For that peaceful day.

Swaddle Knock

Flicker, flacker, why, and not.
I haven’t got a clue.
You tangle the fishing line
And throw a hula hoop.
What you say with dimling din
And fumble to pass it along!
Do you not see the mermaid
Or hear her midnight song?
Crack at bat, you swing at that,
And bunt a foul too soon.
Do you not hear the howling?
Turn off that full lit moon.
Oh swaddle knock, it is too late.
The words rock the boat.
Shoulda put the kettle on,
But fed the billy goat.

Distorted Vision

One little speck, and the eye is dim.
The vision is distorted.
A blink, a wink, and a filter.
It’s hard to sort it.
Uncertainty behind the lid.
A blurry sight to see.
Watery eyes tear up.
Moisture is a need.
Inspect, examine, evaluate.
Determine what is wrong.
Treat the cause and focus on
Healing to be strong.

Inspiration: Mote in the eye
“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.”
– Luke 6:41-42 KJV

My Friend The Mask

Hidden behind the mask,
And the world outside.
It’s a false security
To think I can hide.
Just like me,
It is not perfect.
But like a good friend
It tries to protect.
God in His wisdom
Has made us friends.
We work together
To be a defense.
Thank You, God,
For my friend The Mask.
Thank You for allowing it
To perform its task.

Gentle Mental Rain

Drizzling rain is falling
Reminding to be gentle.
We’ll still get wet
No matter the mental.
Dark and hazy clouds
Like the ones in our mind.
We’re all a little confused,
So be kind.
A spot of blue
Is trying to peek through.
A lot of souls need
The Light in you.
The sun starts to shine.
The sky illuminates.
Patience brings joy
To those who wait.

The Paper Waits to Relay

Words, thoughts, chasing shadows.
Things heavy on my mind.
There are no answers for the questions.
The days are left behind.
The pen runs with the ink.
The paper waits to relay.
Do the words have Your permission?
What are they allowed to say?
Weary, scared, confused,
The world wonders what to do.
The pen needs to write the message,
God loves you!

Homebound Sound

The whir of your engine
Propels you by.
I cannot see you,
Somewhere in the sky.
The rev of your engine
Gases your motor.
Your tires disappear,
As they quickly roll over.
The voice on your phone
Tells your business,
But you’re so absorbed,
You just listen.
Sounds all around me
Distracting my mind.
They are very welcome
In this troublesome time.
The sound of the trumpet
Will soon resound.
Headed for heaven,
We’ll be homebound.

Your Shining Hope

Yellow, orange, red.
All of different shades.
Green in many colors.
This is the beauty You’ve made.
The warmth, the brightness,
The presence of the sun
Makes me think of the day
Our Light will be Your Son.
The hum of the air.
The sound of the quiet.
Feeling like everything’s
Going to be alright.
These are the blessings
In moments You provide.
Even in chaos,
A beautiful way to hide.
Thank You for shining
A little of Your love my way.
A little bit of hope
Goes a very long way.

The Fowls of Matthew 6:26

My eyes on the sky,
I see you fly by.
A pair of fluttering wings
Catch my eye.
Clouds of many kinds
Are stretched abroad,
Yet another pair of wings
Distract my thought.
Blue were the first,
Black the second.
Now a brown pair
Begins to beckon.
One on the rooftop.
One in the trees.
One on the limb,
Shaking the leaves.
The fowls of Matthew 6:26
Are reminding me,
“Don’t look for an escape.
You’re looking out for me.”

A Trail of Words

A trail of words leading me.
My vision slightly impaired.
I know that you are leading me,
But I do not know where.
The words themselves are cloudy.
Sometimes distorting the view.
But I know they are instructed
To bring glory to You.
Words bring definition and clarity
To things uncertain.
But they’re meant to be a blessing,
Not a burden.
These words are words You’re giving me,
But come with a dose of patience.
I pray and listen,
And wait for Your Presence.

Virtuous Teaching

What a joy for a mom
In raising her boy,
To give him wisdom
And seeds of joy,
To watch his strength
Gain each day,
And trust that teaching
To lead his way.
God is in that teaching
Because it’s all about Him.
Teach the boy God’s ways.
He’s going to need them
Teach him to find
The wife with God’s favor.
Her love for Him
Is what’s to savor.
A man and His wife,
And the children they bring.
They will teach them
To keep God in everything.
