Bubbling over, I begin to dance.
My shimmering light brings a trance.
Trickle, trickle, ripple, ripple.
The rapids rush me on.
Nearing now the earth’s cool edge,
I must fall to keep running along.
As I pass and entertain thee,
What do you see of me?
I’m a river, a lake, a little creek.
I flow from and return
To the depths of the sea.
Do not cry or worry for me.
I carry a message and a lesson for thee.
I have my share of troubles and woes,
Muddy waters, polluted shores,
Storms to blow and toss me at will.
But I will find my calm
When my Savior comes
And speaks, “Peace, be still.”
So let my glimmer of hope
Bring your smile as I glisten.
Pause upon my river banks
To give His whispers a listen.
