Basking in the Heat

How hot I am in this sun,
Basking as a loaf of bread.
The sweat all over my body,
Right to the scalp of my head.
A nice ice cold drink
Is what I start to entice.
Oh, but to endure Lake Lure, lovely Chimney Rock,
Would be ultimately nice.
The cool water twinkling over the rocks
And then my feet.
To have the water dripping from my hair onto my back
Would be a treat.
Gently, the breeze would blow
As the water helps it revive my flesh.
To sway as playfully as the cool mountain water
Feels so uniquely fresh.
