A graven invitation
to you my dearest friend
to join me another life
where the pain will end.
We’ll lie beneath the moistened soil
and talk of all the days
that we were suckered in by those
who had the games to play.
We’ll laugh at them when we’re gone
and watch them all fall down.
They will wish that we were there
for them to push around.
Do not be afraid of it.
It is a resting place
where all of life’s misery
has to be erased.
